Am I allowed to bring along my deathcult sidekicks?

No.

No one is above the law, and taking the law into your own hands makes you no better than the criminal you are punishing.

What about evidence?
What about the question of guilt?

A vigilante is nothing but a glorified thug.
1. Natural law or human law? This is after all the argument that allows protests such as pro-life, pro-choice, suffrage, and of course Dr. King.

2. What if the law if wrong but the people follow it anyway? or if the law is so weak it fails to protect the people it is built to protect?

3. Guilt is a hard one as that has changed from everyone here knows you are a crook they all saw you so no one was upset when bob the sheriff shot you to juries and courts. While the rules have not changed the way society interprets them is the key. Too messy to debate but that leads into number 4.

4. Glorified thug? But I AM THE LAW! After all laws only stand as long as enough people back them and if they get enough opposition they can change or become weak/unenforced.

Do me a favour, eh?
If you ever become one, use the moniker of The Procrastinator.
Yeah, there's a point. See, most people in the world have this odd belief that no matter how many horrible things someone has done, killing them is apparently somehow wrong. In my personal beliefs it's possible for you to cross a line where i stop considering you to be human. I also posess very little ability to feel emotion, and as such hold little regard for life. You follow your morality, but i want to reinvent morality. Therefore, i'm afraid you keep trying to stop me so sorry, but you're going to be collateral damage in my great restarting of the human race! JOIN ME, MY FOLLOWERS, AND CHARGE FORWARD INTO THE FUTURE FOR EVERLASTING GLOR-

...My apologies, there's a segment of my brain that's sort of quarantined due to it being a factory of psychotic ultra-extremist ideas. Discussions like this tend to cause it to start seeping out of my mind.

Only if I were a Batman style high-tech, no killing vigilante. Otherwise, I'll just leave things to the police.

If there was a guarantee I'd be awesome at it and never die and no one would ever die because of it. And if I had awesome superpowers that made me invincible.

... I'm such a noble risk-taker.

I've run into a few people who needed a beat down but I didn't give it to then cause I would be arrested. so no, unless I can somehow escape prosecution.

Maybe if I were Batman. But I'm not, so I wouldn't.

Unless, of course, it was personal. I can't say that if someone close to me were seriously wronged that I wouldn't take the law into my own hands.

Quite alright my friend.
Also, my problem was not with killing, per se, as it was with killing everybody (Or at least a fair majority) for what less-than-everybody did/does/will do.

Has to do with my belief that anything less than 100% does not justify punishing 100%, hence why I underlined "Everyone" and "Some" rather than "Kill".

Still think that The Procrastinator would be a great moniker though.

Batman-problem? Why does Batman need to be stopped? I'm not seeing a problem here.
Because he commits crimes.
But...in a vigilante way....thats what we like about him...amirite?

I'm totally confuzzled.

And that's why there is a problem. If you fight criminals by becoming a criminal, is that okay? I mean, how do you justify your action? You can point to the law, because you just broke it. Can you assume you have the ultimate judgement? What if you don't have all the detail? What if the man who just shot someone was also a vigilanti? And even if you know everything about a case, someone else might not. Maybe you get shot by a vigilanti while vigilanting.

I mean, sure I didn't thing all of that through just now, but it's the basic problem.

Only if I had superpowers and could easily and perfectly conceal my identity (to protect my family/friends).

Then, I'd HAVE to be a vigilante. If I didn't, it would be a waste of my powers.
