A "Let's Play" of Deus Ex: Human Revolution?

Allow me to say that, beyond a doubt, the idea of playing this game has me shaking with pure glee. It's sitting in my Steam library on pre-order as I type this, taunting me with promises of epicness and candy.

Yes, candy.

As it stands, I've started using my brand-new computer to do "Let's Play" videos with Fraps. On top of that, I have a weeks worth of paid vacation time burning a hole in my employment contract. So, I wish to ask the Escapist...

If I were to do some "Let's Play" vids of DE:HR right after it's released, would you want to watch them? Or do you think it would be a terrible, spoilerific idea?

I don't want my vacation time to go to waste.

Yes I would, LP's are often how I decide to buy a game, so long as I don't watch too far.
I usually watch the first few episodes to decide if I want to buy it, and if I do, I don't continue the series until I've passed the LP'er up so I can see a different way to face the challenges I've already faced, while watching the first few makes the learning curve a little less steep.

I personally would not do a LP.
What I do with my vids are record the whole game with a friend or just by myself and make "episodes". Each episodes contains the funniest/best clips of that section of the game. It has proved successful for me, my videos have gotten quite a bit of views now, and Criken2 (look him up on youtube, he's big on machinima) subscribed to me and liked and commented on one of my vids, which as you can imagine was very motivating and exciting for me. :D
I find watching an ENTIRE LP somewhat boring, unless the commentator can spout something really funny every 30 secs.

Sounds like somebody put those $2.50 to work in the steam summer sale (as did I).

Since I haven't played it yet either as I am currently waiting on a new mouse, I probably wouldn't watch out of fear of spoilers.

Wrong Deus Ex, mate.

I'm talking about the new one that's to be released at the end of August.

Ohhh, boy do I feel like a goober. In that case, I might give it a whirl if the reviews are decent (but not so great as to immediatley give me the urge to buy the game).

Considering I have preordered it as well, no I probably wouldn't watch it due to reasons of "OMGDEUXEXPLAYPLAYPLAY!"

Off topic, but I voted bacon, in case you were wondering.

Not to be an asshole, but it would largely depend on whether you're any good or not. Almost all video LPs I've checked out bore me. Then again, that's including the famous ones from people like Slowbeef or Freelance Astronauts, so perhaps video LPs are simply not for me.

That was for video LPs in general; for Deus Ex: Human Revolution specifically, I would not watch it when it came out, because I hate spoilers.

But after I'd played & finished the game, I would at the very least investigate such a thing, simply because I want The Escapist to have more LPs.

I doubt I'll buy the game, but I'd be interested enough to watch an LP. If the game is amazing, then I'll get it.
Just remember to TALK. I hate LPs where the player doesn't talk. I want to know how you feel about what's happening, rather than merely watching.

I chose other, I would watch it after I play the game or to see what to do if I get stuck but not before, and since I don't have a PC that would run it (mine can't even play minecraft) or a Xbox 360 or PS3 that actually translates to no I wouldn't watch it or at least not in the near future maybe 10 years in the future which for me will be the present and just then I'll be buying my new PC because I have a 10 year lag in technology in general.

Probably not. Deus ex fails to interest me. It's also news to me that a new game is coming out.

I've grown tired of these 100% play throughs that act more as guides than sitting down and watching someone enjoy a game with people.
IF you do this day one blind LP of it, DUDE I am their! it will spice things up for me.
