So, i'm rerolling (and resubscribing to) WoW, because my friend is starting, so I've narrowed it down to three classes (see poll) which ever gets the most votes, i will play. Also, i'm a little confused about the triple XP system, and the perks, so if anyone would care to explain, that'd be great :D

Also, forgot to mention, i have an 80 pally currently, and some mis lvl chars that i got bored of.

I have a priest, lock, mage, and a holy pally. The warlock was the most fun to play but the priest and pally get invited to far more raids.Heals are always in demand. So is tank though if you like tanking go warrior you will always be sought after.

Warlock. Straight Melee is boring in my opinion and while priests are good at healing, they're made of paper.

Roll neither. Make a druid and you'll have an all-rounded class.

They sort of resemble these.
Warrior
Rogue
Priest
Warlock

To explain a bit about RAF, basically while you and your friend play together you get the extra XP.Later on you can take the xp you collected with your friend and apply it to another one of your toons. So if you level say a priest with your friend so he can help protect you you can then insta level a lock to 60 i think.

I didn't like melee classes in WoW for one reason: the sound effects for the abilities are balls. Seriously, I use Heroic Strike and I expect there to be a great 'whoosh' and then a mighty 'crunch' or perhaps a sickening 'schlork' as my blade slams into the hapless Kobold. Well, it gets as far as the 'whoosh' before stopping. The whole thing was underwhelming. Plus, some of the animations just look lame, especially the dagger animations.

So that leaves Priest and Warlock. If you're playing with a friend (which you seem to be) then leveling a Priest won't be that bad. Trying to solo with Priest is just all kinds of stupid at many different points, hence the reason I gave up on it after a few levels. Warlocks are fun, but people may scream at you if you roll on items that they don't perceive as useful for you (like rings with +Stamina).

Warlock, I started with warlock, dabbled with all other classes but stuck with warlock as a hardcore raider right up to lvl 80.

Just tell them Stamina adds to a warlocks up time with life tap or if you're demonic it can directly increase DPS and for further information they can view elitistjerks.com.

My 3 worst classes...

Warlock? It's the least boring out of the three in my opinion.

Shadow priest :p I used to play BEFORE the first expansion (so a really long time ago) and I could own people 2-3 levels higher than me. I know shadow priest wasn't really wanted in end game but you could always re-specialize.

I'm pretty sure its a 2:1 ratio for levels I may be wrong though

im not 100% sure i just remember someone that did it told me you could get a toon to 60 by leveling a different one with a friend

Ok, roll a priest, I play an 80 priest and have lots of fun dual specced. Although i'm mainly an arena PvP player now, in my raiding days you'd have no problem getting any groups as the game is always short of healers, especially half decent one.

The Recruit a friend system works on this basis, your friend (One who invites you officially) can grant a level to one of your characters for every level he gets. But he cannot grant levels past the current level of his character. To illustrate this, your friend has made a new character with you, and you both level to 60. You then say to your friend, "Hey I want to play a warlock now, i'm bored of this priest." Your friend can instantly level your Warlock to level 59. One level below his current.

Please remember any levels you wish to grant must, MUST, be done before 61, as they automatically get wiped at this point, meaning you can use nothing.

And good luck.

RAF bonus only works up until level 60. Granting levels to another character works on a 2:1 ratio. For example, if you and your friend level characters together to level 60, he can then grant up to 30 levels to another of your characters (for a max level of 60). You can not grant him levels.

Go for the priest. Always a need for more healers. Also, if you go shadow, mages will love you.

Focus Magic priority list:

1.Mage
2.S/Priest
3.Boomkins
4.Warlock

I won't vote as it depends on what you prefer and you've listed no preferences. Instead I'll try to give you a if>then>else argument to each so you can adapt my advice to your preference - note that my advice is PvE only.

Priest: If you're interested in healing, this is your best choice with the option of two specs (and some really fun stuff coming with Cataclysm). I'm personally not a fan of the Shadow gameplay so I'd say give it a miss if you want to DPS

Warlock: Well, it's your only ranged pure DPS choice so if that's what you want, go for it. Personally however, I don't find them much fun in WotLK and would recommend other ranged DPS classes over them, although that may change in Cataclysm, if you're getting prepared for that.

Warrior: Only melee you listed. If you want to tank, it's an obvious choice among the three. If you want to DPS, consider whether you prefer being able to move while DPSing (promoting melee play and hence a warrior) or whether you prefer rarely to never being locked out of DPSing by being forced to move away from situational AoE at the boss's back (promoting a ranged). Again however, Warrior would not be my choice for melee DPS (although they're supposed to be the best fun as a tank), from my own experience, if you enjoy a challenge, Feral Druid has a lot more fun rotation... and as a Druid it's easier to change your role should you wish :)

Warlock was my only class when I played. I didn't regret it. Simply, I asked my friend which class is evil and I got my answer. You summon demons. Seriously. Win.
