Took about two weeks both times mine broke down. (not RROD strangely enough, which meant the extended warranty didn't apply, I was pissed, as I was only about a week over the original warranty)

Ha, my xbox works like a charm. I hope I never have to send it away. I'll be quite upset if I do :(

If You take your Xbox to the place of purchase and have the reciept they normally will swap it for you. i've done this at game in the uk three times now although they have changed there policy lately and wont let you keep the harddrive although i argued with the guy on the desk telling him he wasn't getting my 160 hours of oblivion saves in the end he saw my point and let me keep the harddrive. why xbox dont endorse this policy i'll never know its a total joke having to go without it for weeks when you guys are still probably paying your live subscription that your not using. get it sorted Bill.

Last time I sent my Xbox to be repaired I got 1 month free Live so they kinda make up for it. Mine has just broken again the other day, getting picked up on Monday and sent to Germany!

Oh and The Iron Ninja, you should have taken it back to where you bought it, you could argue that its not fit for purpose and that the amount of money spent on the item, you would expect to last more than just past it's garrentee(SP?) if not get in contact with trading standards, though not sure if this is applicable to you as it's a British loophole.

Did I happen to buy the only good first gen 360?
Mine has been faithful and not had a single problem for two and a half years. Touch wood *touches some wood* (not that kind of wood!).

I live in canada and mine broke once, and it only took one week. Now it wont sense wireless controllers or headsets, though it does run normally.

If I get my Xbox back and it won't detect wireless controllers, I will be yelling at some asian telephone guy at Microsoft's phone answering service in Dubai SOOOO fucking fast, lol

I have no idea for where you live. For me, living in New York, it takes a month to get to Texas, fixed, and back. But I assume things will be quicker for you. Not so much ground to cover.

It took 6 months to read my title.

It really doesn't matter where you live too much, I live in Texas and mine was sent to Washington.

Really depends. I have sent mine off a good few times, sometimes it was back in a week or so. But I had to wait over a month at one point. If you're lucky it should be back in time, but I wouldn't put money on it.
