I'm assuming everyone is aware of the backpedaling on Microsoft's used game and online check-in policies. Anyone had their opinion changed?

Personally, the fact that they were willing to screw over the customer, in the first place, destroys any trust I had in Microsoft and, with it, any chance of me buying the thing. The blatant lies about cloud computing being so important as well as the continued use of the Kinect and the high price are just factors that pile on to my reasons for avoiding it.

Come on, there are already like, 5 polls for this very same topic.

Like I said in those other topics, no, it doesn't change a thing, I'm still not getting one

Nope.

As I've said in other threads, it doesn't matter what xbox does at this point, I still won't buy one. The reason being that Microsoft showed their hand with these DRM policies, and showed exactly what they want the game industry to become, a consumer fucking publisher circle jerk. The fact that they've reversed their DRM policy doesn't mean that's the last we'll be seeing of it. More than likely all Microsoft has figured out from this chaos is that you can't screw the consumers all at once in one go. Now more than likely they'll continue making terrible DRM policies that restrict their customers' usage of things that they bought, but they'll do it slower. They'll implement their terrible policies incrementally so that with each new added policy people will be able to say "well, it's not THAT bad," all until we have the old Xbox One back again in 2 generations.

Just the very idea of how badly they wanted to screw over consumers is sickening to me, so I won't buy their console even though they've done a 180 on it. I still hope this damn thing crashes and burns and that the people who came up with the original DRM schemes get fired for it.

We shouldn't forgive or forget crap like this. Companies should have to learn the hard way that their first loyalty should be to the consumer if they expect the same loyalty from us.

I'd delete it if I could. Had a quick search of the most recent threads, none of which were on the topic.

this thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.819381-Poll-Has-Microsofts-changes-to-Xbox-One-DRM-changed-your-decision-on-getting-the-console] and this thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.819380-Poll-Have-the-changes-to-the-Xbox-One-changed-your-buying-plans] are about the exact same thing, i.e. if the changes made us change our mind.
