Sony went too far with the video gaming thing or they support some extreme DRM so I might not even get a PS4 anymore...

My deal? I've read an article that the PS4 doesn't recognizes non-sony USBs. (This includes flash drives!) which is a major killer for me since I have everything I would like to play on my flash drive. (Music, digital videos, etc) and ye'h... I don't know about Xbox One though honestly so can't say much there.

Though most likely where will happen is... I'ma stick to Xbox 360 master-console-race type of deal and get a new system base on what new games I want that are console only... Otherwise, probably gonna stick to PC as much as possible for all newer stuff.

Your second point just isn't true. I updated my PS4 on day one with a patch pre-loaded on an HP thumb drive. I can say that it doesn't recognize plastic tip thumb drives though, but that probably won't be a problem for most people. I've also been using a phone charger cable to charge my Dualshock 4 because I lost the charger that came with the system. It's just a Micro B USB [http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/db/MicroB_USB_Plug.jpg/799px-MicroB_USB_Plug.jpg]. I got the cable from a Samsung phone. Neither of the current gen consoles can read media from a thumb drive at this point anyways.

Honestly, just based on commercials, I'd have to give it to Microsoft. I actually hate the marketing campaign that Sony has been using with that stupid song they are singing. Nintendo is basically non-existent, but Microsoft seem to be actually showing games off, but I can only recall seeing Forza 5.

Doesn't really matter to me though as it don't need their marketing to know if I want a ps4 or xbone, and I don't plan on either for a year or two anyway. I already own a WiiU so that is a moot point as well.

It actually aired during adult swim. I thought it hilarious that they know their target markets so well that they'd using something like Robot Chicken as the design for the commercial on the network that Robot Chicken runs on.

Just based on media? PS4, since ya know, they were not making hoards of angry people, plus the How to Trade Games video was funny. With the exception of the whole weird baby doll thing in the early PS3 days, I often enjoy Sony advertising despite not even having one until a month ago.

The song one does seem to be loved or hated depending on the individual. But Sony has a surprising variety of commercials out there.

Have to give it to Sony. Their media was far more amusing and made me want to watch it multiple times. I still get loads of laughs out of the "how to share ps4 games" video. Microsoft had bad PR and bad people representing them. Almost none of them were likable at all. The what I assume is now infamous "just sit there and take it, it'll all be over soon" line. Nintendo haad little to no media campaign at E3 2013, not to mention that their console release I can't remember anything from it.


Sony. Sony wins the media campaigns.

Well I also havent seen a single ad about any console anywhere but the PS4 wins here simply because Microsoft committed suicide in the worst marketing campaign I have ever seen while the WiiU striggled to make itself relevant after the immediate beneficial but long term harmful position the Wii positioned itself as. XBONE had the most prevalent marketing, with the largest coverage. However, Sony had the better PR, simply by virtue of comparative business practices.

Oddly enough, Nintendo probably has the larger number of killer apps (for their fans, though I personally care little for 1st party Ninty titles).

That is knowing your age demographic to a T. Making a specialized ad for a certain run time on one channel is also pretty smart. The Xbox One ads I've seen are just lazy aping of Sony's live action gimmick with far too much emphasis on non-game functions.

Sony avoided advertising their shitty subscription required online system outside the fine print, while for Microsoft the always online DLC basically dominated their year. Sony won the media campaign by miles despite having some equally shitty things and Microsoft backtracking.

This would've been a very unfair question if Nintendo had realized that most of their demographic wouldn't cared about their new console. Most of their games? Ports. Not reusing the same old franchises to make their console unique, they got ports for ME3, Arkham City and a few other games. And most of their demographic don't care about the 'hardcore' games as they enjoy the causal games.

Given the PR disaster which was Microsoft's E3 'presentation' gave Sony a huge field advantage. Major Nelson whinging about lack of respect was deliciously ironic as they clearly didn't care about players without good internet access.

Sony had some good ads as apparently the Crazy Juice the guy who made the PS3 ads is being used by Saints Row apparently. I did enjoy their ads, but I have noticed the Microsoft have the same style... It was weird.

But Sony wins, hands-down and it is depressing. XB1 have recently announced their 'exclusives' are going on PC as well... While the TV thing would've been cool, the pretentious way they present it is really harsh.

But at least this was all better than the VGXs!
