Im mean its a kinda cool thing to do if you can be bothered to set up (or atleast I think it would be never done it) but: its alot of effort to take a TV an xbox and games to where ever (unless your at an event where they provide some of that stuff. If they even exist)

Now what I wanted to know is have any of you guys used it?

Yeah, I've been to a couple of xbox LANs. Playing directly with others like that is far superior to any other form of multiplayer gaming if you can get around to arranging it, IMO. I really wish I had the initiative to do it more often; even just split screening is vastly more fun than gaming over XBL in games with good split-screen support.

Yeah, I normally do system link when I take my 360 to my best friend's house <3
Except now he has a ton of little wireless thingies that we can use, so we don't need to do system link when we can both connect to his wireless network and play online together <3

I have never used a system link with the 360. The last time I participated in such a thing I was playing Halo 2 with some friends in the barracks.

With the advent of Xbox Live when me and my roommate wanna play together we just get online and call back and forth to each other from opposite ends of the room instead of using headsets.

Because before, when I was at his house for a "party", we usually set up in the same room, so we only had one internet access point. But now her has loads of the little network adapters, we can both set up in the same room and play online.
Sure, we play online from our houses, but that isn't a party with drinks, snacks, animé and games.

Yeah, if some friends stay round for a few days we often set up 3 or 4 Xboxs and play over system link.

I've also used it a lot at LAN gaming centres.
