I personally think that the current console generation has the best elements of every part of the gaming community:
1. the wii's innovation
2. the hardware of the ps3
3. the onlinesupport and the wide array of games for the 360

Adding "the Wii's innovation" to a standard console still leaves your with most of the weaknesses of a standard console. For example, it's hard to mod console games(*).
I also really
wouldn't want a Wii-style motion-sensitive controller in most games I'd play. It's nice for some things but using it everywhere would actually be a step backward in terms of human-computer interface and usability.

im confused why the majority voted "no"
what else does it need to get the perfect console?
virtual-reality-porn?
One of those vibrating attachments for
Rez would be nice.

* - Think about the important role of user-created content in some of the most famous and best selling PC games of all time: all those user-created mods in
Oblivion; the powerful map editor in
Starcraft and
Warcraft 3; user-programmed interface extensions in
World of Warcraft; all the new content for
Freespace 2, years after its whole genre is pretty much dead; several whole new games built on top of
Half-Life by hobbyists. Even the little things, like custom maps in your shooter of choice, go a very long way.
