I saw a lot of yahtzee's videos and liked them because to me it is like xplay when it was still good.
So I am just curious how long can yahtzee go before he ends up like xplay and doing a horrible gaming news show, becoming so desperate for attention you feel sorry for him.
I ask this because I like his earlier reviews when he used music before and after rants and feel like since they are losing there touch. and I am curious

There was a point at which it seemed like he was slipping, but it seems to have gotten better lately.

It's a shame he has become so popular, too much social acknowledgement can ruin anything.
He does of course deserve the fan base he has, but it's always the fan boys that ruin stuff like this.

Ok I hate people who yell 'THIS THREAD HAS BEEN DONE' so I guess I'm a hypocrite because I want to know why do we have to have a 'is yahtzee slipping' thread every three weeks or so?
Someone makes another one of theses usually after ever Yahtzee video. I don't mind the repeat threads sometimes, but these ones need to just stop.

You can't expect him to keep up the same inspired quality after so long. It's like any tv-series, after 100 episodes, it's going to get stale, because they run out of ideas.

You do know that was because of copyright problems, right? What the hell does the music have to do with the quality of a review anyway?

It did seem like Yahtzee had been slipping a while back, and though he never truly recovered he atleast seems to have stopped getting worse. His stuff now definetly isn't as good as the old stuff though.

I can't help but feel it's coming in leaps and bounds because people watch the reviews for different reasons. I watch then because I want to know what he thinks of the games, but I know at least one person who watches them just for the jokes. Case in point - I enjoyed this weeks Thief retrospective because it told me about the games in a lighthearted, but substantial manner. I was instantly bored by the Sonic Unleashed review because it wasn't so much a review as an excuse to hurl vitriol around the place.

thats not entiraly blameable on him though with the state of current releases theres not very many unique games comming out.
example:
Nearly every shoting game has aliens of some form in it 75% chance of these aliens being headcrabs of some form lowers veriaty so I'm not sure what people are going to blame what seemed to be a slip but I think that when we get some good new releases out then in six months time when they are out in australia we can see a return to his original form.

You're only as good as your last review. Mind you, I'm sure he doesn't give a monkeys what we think any way. Still, what the hell is the game damage s*** all about.

The intermission in the LBP review was the funniest thing to hit the internet so far this year.

I like the music too but keep in mind he may have had to stop that because of copyright law.

He may be slipping a little because the truly horrible games have already been done. You can only complain about a momorphagure for so long.

I liked Game Damage I thought it was pretty good. And that was for Australian gamer because of the popularity of the podcasts from Australian gamer.

I personally would have enjoyed seeing Yahtzee on TV. I'm all for supporting indie programs (user-submitted content irony here).

True, true. I am still hopeful that we will see some of the good old stuff again, I don't think he's lost all his talent.
