Hmm... You seem to have stolen my identity.
Nah, I was born on the seventeenth not the twenty-fifth, so even though everything else is the same we don't need to fight to the death to decide which of us is the real one.

The average gamer's in his early thirties (or should I say "her" early thirties, since they're counting old biddies who play Bejeweled and Peggle exclusively.) I'm in my early thirties but I'm too busy playing Empire: Total War and Oblivion to bother with Bejeweled and Peggle (although Puzzle Quest on the DS is a more potent sleep prevention device than a can of Rockstar.)

I'm 15. I wish I was 16 so I could drive. I wish I was 17 so I could buy M rated games without my mom standing next to me in the game store. I wish I was 18 so I could buy cigarettes. I wish I was 21 so I could buy alcohol. Being 15 sucks!

I saw this thread before, but at least you used the search bar. You get a cookie for trying!

Phew... Flights to California aren't cheap. Nor are funerals.

19 years, I can drink, drive, and smoke cigarrettes :) Although doing all at the same time apparently is frowned upon here in New Zealand.

And mate, even though its illegal, doesn't mean you can't "acquire" those items :)

There are polls taken every year about similar topics. I believe the census as of last year for the average gamer is 30 years old. So i predict 25-30 will be your winner.
This year, it seems we've all grown quite a bit younger. Well it does tell us quite a bit about the demographics of this site since last year.

All these punks on this intertubes playing their wiz bang games with the 3-d graphics, physics based modeling, and surround sound phewey.
Bah I say bah!
In my day you had to go to the mall and play with people on the same machine in the same arcade.
What? No not Xbox Arcade an actual arcade in a building with walls, and you paid with quarters you got from a fat, sweaty man who asked you if you liked Conan movies and wanted to see his puppy in his van.
Where was I?
Oh yeah and you had to get the Genesis version of Mortal Kombat and press ABACAB on the control pad to get the blood and fatalities to work.
We had no series of tubes except ones full of monsters to kill and we had to blow on the metal contacts and slam it into the consoles quick to get it to work.
You didn't wave your controller around unless Pokemon triggered seizures and Sonic games were good till he got all fancy and three dimensional.
You kids got it too good, you have phones that play Tetris in color, we had Gameboys with muddy black and gray screens that you had to feed six double A batteries to get it to work for two hours and we were happy with that, the game gear could double as a portable tv but that darn thing died in an hour. You kids have multicore processors we had bits. At first 8 then 16, 24 if you were rich. We tried 32 but it looked like an ugly black brick on top of the Genesis and the CD attachment meant you needed three huge power plugs that took up two or more spaces each on the power strip.
And you have quicktime events we had fmv movies that sucked and made Congress angry.
You punks don't know how good you have it, you have XP and OS X. We had Windows 95 and no one bought Macs except schools, if we wanted to listen to music we turned on the radio or use stereo cassettes that would jam or wear out in the boombox.
No Spielbeg did not make boom boxes those were portable radios that needed eight D batteries and weighed ten pounds and you carried it on your shoulders.
Now you whippersnappers get of my lawn!!!
