I got a Black Lotus! Hell yeah. I used to have a Beta Black Lotus when I was a kid.. I never should have given away my old magic cards..

But yeah, I'm happy with it.

To.. some kid.. in junior high. Seriously, I have no idea who. I decided to stop playing, so I just randomly gave all my cards to the other kids who played. I was trying to re-imagine myself as a less nerdy dude, which of course didn't work, and I actually got back into magic about 3 years later in high school. And get this: at the end of high school, I gave all my cards away *again*, and some of that stuff is worth a lot today, too. Let this be a lesson to young nerds: if you start feeling a lot of nerd-shame, don't just burn your past like I did. Stockpile that shit.

One of my teachers told a similar anecdote of how he had one of the original first edition Spiderman comics. He sold all his nerd stuff at a low price because he wanted to be cool and he regretted it more than anything because now those comic books, in mint condition, sell for about $200000, he said.

I got the much coveted Key to the TARDIS (they had it in all caps..). I've never watched Doctor Who. I liked the quote with it: "to celebrate the triumph of intellect and romance over brute force and cynicism" and I like the way it looks, however.

But I don't think it's that rare, though I hope, since that would mean missing out on TARDIS a little better, there are just a lot of options and they're all randomized.

So I got the towel badge as you can see (<-) and I was really happy with it, as I love The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy... Until I saw the phaser, cuz I love Star Trek more, as you once again can see (<-). So I was just wondering what badges you all got (Maybe there's someting even better that the phaser to me...) and your thoughts on them.

EDIT2: For those of you wondering what the Black Lotus is, it's the rarest and most expensive Magic: The Gathering card in existence. It's worth about $1000 retail, and probably a lot more if sold privately. Though the card is good, I really don't think it's worth it...
