I'm that random African Escapist. Goodbye.
Did you vote? I still see just one vote for Africa (mine). Anyways...hail fellow African! I'm from Lusaka, Zambia as I said in my post but I've lived in the USA since 2003 but Africa is my one true home.

EDIT: Ok now I see your vote, that's 2 for Africa!
Yay, another African Escapist, although my grandparents are European on one side and Great great great great great great Grandparents or something like that are European on the other side.

I live in Norrbotten, Sweden, which is part of Europe. It's a wonderful place with cold winters and hot summers.

Well this is nothing surprising. (The majority of the Escapist is english-speaking European? Who'd have ever thought!) /sarcasm

Cool! I see you are from South Africa, I know there are a lot of white folks of British and Dutch (among other things) descent in South Africa; would you fall under that category? Or are you of the "Bruin Afrikaners" or "Coloured" ethnic group? (which is mix of black and European).

I'm of Pakistani/Indian descent and my family has been in Africa for 7 generations (me being the 7th).

Nah, I can barely speak Afrikaans. You also seem to know your family tree a lot better than I do. I am distantly related to the French Huguenots on my dad's side. I know a few decent coloured guys, but the real bushmen Afrikaners are trouble. Too much rugby, I think.

Wow I'm surprised there are more Europeans than Americans.

But then I suppose we've got like a billion Nordic people here. EDIT: and 2 billion Dutch.

I am sure more than one other person has said this but this is something worth repeating, CENTRAL AMERICA IS NOT A CONTINENT.

I' m suprised that Europe is winning, but yay for us regardless. Any chance you can kick us out of the EU though so we can have one last shot at being great and truely independant then end up imploding or becoming the 51st State?

Oceania probably includes all the islands in the surrounding area though. I'm from Australia too.

I was born and live in North America. But I'm FROM Europe. I chose North America, though.

I'm in Europe. Which in most American TV I watch is referred to as ONE place, not over FORTY nations. Kinda bugs me.
But hey, I digress.
Ugh yeah. I remember I went to Switzerland to visit family in the 6th grade and then came back and had to do a presentation. One kid asked me if I went to the place with all the rocks... "Um, do you mean stonehenge?" "Yeah!" "... Really?"
Hah, I'm really am from the place with all the rocks. Stonehenge is a 20 minute drive away, tops. But there are even other Brits that couldn't even point at a map of the UK to near where it is.

I've even heard two idiots from Southampton (a 30 minute drive from me) saying, and I quote:

"Did you see that thing about Stonehenge on TV?"
"Yeh, it's real!"
"I know! I though it was a myth! :D"

I hoped they were talking about it's purpose. Nope, they didn't think it actually existed.

That, right then, was the biggest facepalm of my life.

Yeah. I haven't completely forgotten the anthem, but I can't remember it all.
I can remember the beginning, but everything after that...
