PSA: Drink responsibly. Moderation. And all that.

Anyway, I always hear people speak of not remember anything that happened while they were drunk. Some crazy things have happened to some of my friends in such situations, and they claim to have absolutely no memory of it. And I tend to hear this from most people I know who drink.

I, on the other hand, always remember everything in perfect detail. Even the things I'd rather not remember (or especially the things I'd rather not remember). So long as I wasn't passed out (which has only happened once or twice. The DD of the night usually will try to keep people from gettin to that point), it's all there the next day. So I get hangovers and regret! Yay! Just kidding. They are actually mostly good memories, so I consider it more of a gift than a curse.

I was just wondering which type of person is more common. So, given that you did not pass out (or weren't also using other drugs), how is your memory of your drunken nights? And whatever way you are, do you consider it a gift or a curse?

When I hit my physical limit, it wipes my memory of the night for the most part. 3-4 beers I start getting a little hazy with my recollections but usually anything important is remembered.

Instead of forgetting 98% of everything I do, which occurs when I'm sober (The 2% I do recall is usually blurred) when I'm drunk I tend to remember about 40% of the time in perfect quality.

It seems that the more I drink the better my memory gets, with it being barely better than normal when tipsy, but immaculate when completely smashed (Though with the way I drink when I get to that point I'm only smashed for a short while before I pass out due to accidentally downing large quantities of spirits that I mistake for normal drinks)

Most of the times that I don't remember when drunk I was actually on other drugs, usually caffeine (Which completely murders my memory on its own)

I remember when I was drunk, but I also remember that I forgot thinks when I was drunk. If it confuses you, let me explain. I can be in the living room doing something, then walking over to some other room, knowing that I entered that room, but somehow forgetting everything relating to how I entered that room.

I tend to remember what happened, just not why it happened. I am betting that the "because I felt like it" reason pops up the most, but I can't tell you why I would have wanted to do the things that I did. Part of that implies that I remember events happening, just not the things leading up to that point.

I can't really drink, but given that I forget most stuff in a sober state I doubt I'd remember anything while drunk.
[sub]Though I do seem to enter a similar state as dunkness when I listen to depressing music, does that count? It even makes my memory hazier than normal...[/sub]
