This is something that I was thinking about the other day. Canada's Food Guide says that the recommended number of servings for people aged 19-50 are: [F=females M=males]
Vegetables&Fruit: 7-8(F) 8-10(M)
Grains: 6-7(F) 8(M)
Milk: 2(F) 2(M)
Meat&Alternatives: 2(F) 3(M)
http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/fn-an/food-guide-aliment/basics-base/quantit-eng.php

Teens are generally the same, but they require 3-4 servings of milk instead of 2.

I'm curious, does anyone actually meet these requirements? I know for myself I get maybe one fruit serving a day, maybe two. I get two or three grain servings, like four milk servings, and sometimes I don't eat any meat. I know I don't eat a lot, but I'm just never hungry. I make sure I cook 3 meals a day for my family, and give the kids healthy snacks and stuff, but... I dunno.
And I understand these are just general outlines, that some people are different, some people can't have milk and so on and so fourth. Just... bear with me, here.)

Am I just weird?
TLDR: Do you get the recommended servings of each food group per day?

I don't always get that number of fruits/vegetables. I usually sit around 4-5. The rest, I'm good with.

I take multivitamins in the morning, since I don't usually eat much, so I barely ever eat all my recommended servings.

I'm going to say yes, because for the most part, I have a pretty balanced diet. I'm pretty sure though, that I'm way over on the grains front most days- rice, pasta, bread... tis all too delicious!

Through luck of the draw and my incessant desire for fruit (I eat three servings at lunch alone), I actually come pretty close most days. Frankly I'm surprised 'cause I also eat a metric *insert-naughty-word-here*-ton of junk food every day too. MMMMM donut *gargle*

I don't ever really get enough of each food group. I definitely seem to eat more fatty food. The only thing I'm proud of is I've managed to remove quite a lot of fizzy drinks from my diet and now drink a lot more water which is great. Noticing a massive improvement in how I feel and my skin for sure.

I'm meant to eat more fruit and veg, but I simply always end up "too busy". Yep, that excuse! But I work a 9 hour day, I then revise 2-3 hours when I get home, try and fit in the gym, and by the timethat's all done then I just want to sleep. I get in a decent lunch, but hardly ever a decent dinner.

If I could hold out two more weeks until my exams are over then I can focus on eating better and generally feeling better.

No, I tend to forget my vegtables and fruits, plus milk makes me sick so I hardle ever drink it anymore.

Well, since I'm near anemic, and need to take iron supplements, I'm pretty sure I'm not getting enough meat. It's not that I don't like it, but for some reason I can rarely be bothered with meat. I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables though, and I usually have grains with every meal, so I hope I'm getting enough of that. I'm still dependent on my parents for food and all, and I find that if I eat a bit of everything that my mum makes, then I'd definitely meet those requirements each day. Thing is, I'm a bit of a picky eater, and I don't eat very much.

I tend to ignore food guides, they're too narrow for general use. Ultimately, they're only suggestions, not the be all and end all of food consumption. So, naturally, I have no idea whether I'm above, dead on or below.

All that said, I don't eat much in the way fruit (more out of absent mindedness than antipathy towards the juicey blighters). That said, any imbalance in my life is likely more a result of laziness than bad eating habits.

I'll eat whatever mother cooks for me around dinner time, but other than that I tend to stick to coffee and cigarettes. Food isnt a very important part of my day.

My eating habits are HORRENDOUS.

I normaly eat once, maybe twice a day and sometimes "snack" through the night. I normaly have a much too high sugar intake, too much white bread and fat and nearly no vegetables. I also have a too high vitamin intake - but only in highly processed juice-form.

I am drinking nearly exclusivly milk and multivitamin-juice.

But now i have had bouts of money-related problems and have sometimes hungered for days (or sustained myself on bread and water for two weeks)

Funny thing though: I have no problems with my teeth (all there, no holes or rot), and i nearly NEVER get sick.

There are hundreds of these kind of recommendations and they vary a lot. Even the general outlines can be discussed/argued about forever. It's also a subject that has been and will be studied and analyzed quite a lot, so even the "official" recommendations will keep on changing.

Now, that's that.

OT:
Absolutely not, but I try to keep unhealthy snacks to a minimum and try to have as many meals (or snacks actually, as they're supposed to be quite small meals) a day as I can (6-7 would probably be the optimum). Sometimes the only option is to eat what you can get (for cheap), having just a one or two huge meals a day.
Yet I am quite healthy.

No, and I don't think that's possible cause the need of certain food group on daily basis is very individual.
I am allergic to lots of things and to follow such recommendations is a suicide. Plus I feel sick if I eat in the morning and that goes for every food group that I tried to consume early in the day.

Heh, my diet bears little/no resemblence to that system. Almost everything I eat is "bad" for me, especially breakfat (daily fry up/bacon sandwich in lard), and the curry pasty I'm currently eating. And yet i continue to lose weight...
8-10 fruit/veg? It's a god day if i get half that.
