If I'm in an argument with someone, I usually just say something funny and they forget about it.

Here's an example;

Person #1: Why are you always so critical about everything!?
Me: Because Satan wants me to.

Then, she laughs and the argument is either completely forgotten or is lightened to the point of normal speaking voices.

When i get caught, i use this excuse:
