An FPS makes it feel more like you're the one playing and not just remote controlling some tard around the levels, so immersion in the world is my favorite part of an FPS (See; Bioshock, Condemned).

I like just a good old shooter. Almost everything about it is fun to me. But then we get to the REALLY fun part. That's when for some reason, you've got two very good teams playing against each other and then the bullets start to fly. Everything seems to be going all sped up and crazy like and you're desperately trying to jump out of the way and half your team is right there with you shooting up the other guys. I love it when it gets crazy intense.

Stealth killing was one of the things that made Halo fun for me.

There's just something satisfying about sneaking up behind an Elite and snapping his spine with one hit to the back.

FIRST BLOOD, HEADSHOT, no not those occurances, just the amazing voice, thats the best part of FPSs.

Ducking from fire, see the character load the weapon, stand and shoot at targets and duck again.

I enjoy that formula, until bloody nade hits me or you get air-striked or assassinated (see also stabbed in the back cos of bad team mates/undue attention).

I don't play many shooters, but I love stealth. Sneaking up on my friends in UT with the pnumatic press gun was a blast. Or hiding around a corning and picking them off as they chase after someone else.

I like running into several enemies and killing all of them by myself. I like when I out-think or just plain out-play my opponents. My favorite example is the juke. Pretend to run around a corner, when in fact you've doubled back and shot the guy in his ass.

I love how immersive they are compared to 3ps shooters. Also sneaking around a corner and stabbing a couple of people on COD, gotta love the stealth kills.

Winning due to tactical skills (Heres the plan. You go left I go right we shoot our nades get them shooting us then Bob you come in with the chopper clear the way for us etc etc) while the other team is confused and taken by surprise.

I like killing people by tricking them and not just having better skill, this guy who was clearly better than me lost to me because I do things like go around a corner, crouch, and get a quick headshot when he turns expecting me to be down the hall.
