You could argue that they have a cultural empire. Afterall, which Western country, and Asian too, isn't getting more and Americanised since the Second World War?
That is very true, but alas it's not an empire. I do get your point though.

:)
Depends on how you define empire I suppose. Sure, it ain't a typical empire like in the olden days, but they've definitely spread their influence over the world in a way only empires used to do so. But at least we're still autonomous countries, I guess that's something.

Not that it matters much, global politics being the way they are. Most of us smaller Western nations, mine amongst them, just follow the States around like little doggies. The world really is a dirtier, more sneaky place than ever.

Where do I vote for humans?

The Human Empire: First they bested all the other animals. Then they defeated the ocean. They were on a winning streak, until they decided to fight the worst enemy known to man. . . Ehm, Man.

Mongols.

Often underestimated, because they were supposedly barbarians.

That's European PR for you. People forget they exceeded Alexander the Great's empire, and sacked the Roman one.

My favourite, all time, would have to be the Roman Empire, who practically took what the greeks did, made it mainstream and thereby founded western culture...

... but since Rome is not an option I guess I'll have to give this one to the Brits.

Amen to that brother, if you rise to power I'll gladly fight for you!
