We all have a preffered game type in multiplayer. Some like fighting alongside others, some prefer it by themeselves and others like objectives rather than all-out killing.

For me personally, I like game modes where you work togethr as a team to bring down NPC's e.g. Horde (Gears of War 2), Firefight (Halo 3: ODST), Escalation (Transformers: WFC).

This is mainly because I am quite good at decimating NPCs and I have the survival instinct of a suicide bomber, making it easy for me to get kills but even easier for others to kill me. I've been trying to cut down on my rushing and attempting to stick with my teammates though. Basically I like game modes where someone is watching you back and vice versa.

How about you?

The game mode I like most is the type where you have to take enemy point and each time you take one their respawns get knocked back to their next point and they usually get turrets, emplacements etc. Usually called assault. CTF is usually fun too though.

Co-op is probably my favorite. Then you get to actually play with people, and don't try to kill other people.

Team Deathmatch is second though.

Co-op first and foremost (this includes horde, campgain coop etc) I love playing through a game with friends

Then team deathmatch

I would say more tactical games, but you can never find anyone to act tactical with, or you just have so many people it becomes impossible. Though tactics on a small team basis is fun, like 4-5 on 4-5

Probably plant the bomb because those types usually allow only one life, making you think about your decisions more. Pray and spray wont work at well here. Control point it also fun, but only in TF2 where its done right.

Killing hordes of bots with my friends is always a good time, but Team Deathmatch is my favorite when it has to do with shooting eachother. This way there is still some semblance of teamwork involved

As long as I have a good time, I'll do anything. Mostly deathmatch and fighting NPCs though.

I love playing co-op and I always enjoy a good Team Deathmatch. Those are pretty much the only game types I play a lot.

Small Team games like team tactical, or objective based games like search and destroy, capture the flag, demolition, and domination.

Control points, when done properly. Something like Star Wars Battlefront 2's conquest gameplay, which was a combination of team deathmatch and control point capturing.

I've always preferred Controlling Points, such as in the Battlefront series or Transformers: WFC. It makes it seem a bit more realistic than everyone running around shooting each other.

Probably Payload from TF2, I've been obsessing on it since I got the game.
Basically, the attacking team has to stand next to a cart with a bomb on it, which makes the cart move along a track. The enemy team just tries to stop them from reaching checkpoints and eventually making the bomb explode.

Being a fan of Battlefront myself, I bet you'd love Team Fortress 2. Most of the game types involve capture points, and it's incredibly addictive and fun.

Horde styled modes and general coop types also. Failing that assualt types are always ace though team deathmatch are always nostalgic for me (first online game for me was CS 1.5 and Team Fortress).

I thought this meant style of game... My favorite would be something more along the lines of Civ IV where alliances can be made and held, or betrayed, or stagnate. Your relationship can change throughout the course of the game and your always paranoid about your friend's true intentions this game. Next up it would be co-op.

Objective modes, like Battlefield: Bad Company's Gold Rush mode. After that, Capture the Flag and Team Deathmatch.

You and teamates vs NPC's. I find you get less moronic behaviour and more tactical thinking. They try to survive more. I like good old capture the flag and plant the bomb too but when you have less people trying to be idiots the game is better.

It depends on the game. If we're talking about TF2, arena mode sucks, and I'd much rather play payload or CP

However if we're talking about Call of Duty or Halo, I'd much rather be playing Team Deathmatch/Slayer.

I voted for Team Deathmatch, just because of how much fun it is to get a group of people and start blowing each other up.
But I gotta say some of my favorite gametypes have been in the Left 4 Dead series. Survival and Scavenge are surprisingly tactical and really get your blood pumping when its down to the wire.
