I went for Emi first after that, and saved Rin for last.

Isn't that, like... the hardest ending to get?

OT: I accidentally fell into Emi's arc, like many others. Her flags are way too early/easy to trigger, I think.

So I wound up expending as much feel as I could with her arc; I got attached and couldn't go through with a second run. It felt weird.

I did go through all of Shizune's arc though. Personally... I think it was a waste of my time (read: a lot of it).

OT: Wound up with Hanako the first time around, liked her very much due to empathising with her somewhat, even managed to get her good ending on my first try. Only just recently started my second playthrough, and have decided to go with Emi this time, here's hoping her story turns out to be as good.

I think I hit like, one flag for each of them or something (or as many as were up to that point in the story, I don't remember how many choices were before that scene anymore either), so it didn't decide on any of them.

I don't remember, it's been a while.

I ended up getting Kenji'd the first time around. Hanako was my first actual route. My favorite route though was Lily's.

Hanako. As soon as I saw the character art I said, "Yup, she's first." After that, it was Lily as sort of a natural progression. Got the good ending for her but thought that it was the bad end at first (you know how it goes.)

Third was Emi. I managed to get the good ending by calling her a selfish *****. Yeah, I wasn't gonna take that "you don't understand my pain DRAMAAAA" bullshit.

Fourth was Shizune, which I got the bad end the first time because sex.

I went with Emi first, before I found out that the game wasn't just some porn dating sim.

And then fell in love with her.

She is just about tied with Hanako and Lilly, for me. Part of the reason Emi is so attractive is because I've been with girls like her. I have felt that roller coaster of feeling firsthand. The emotions, both positive and negative, are so raw, so powerful, so passionate. Hanako/Lilly are obviously the far more logical choice for long-term happiness, but a relationship with Emi is still so enticing because of how strong, if short-lived, it is.

I know exactly how you feel. I was dating a girl over the summer. She was great and, now that I think about it, a lot like Emi. Cute, funny and always full of energy, but long distance relationships are hard and she didn't want to have that sort of stress along with both of us being in first year of university. The fact that Emi as a character and her story are similar to mine might be part of the reason I feel a huge connection to her and why I'm loving the story that much. Doesn't help that Hisao acts a lot like I did, always teasing and just having fun. Her being short doesn't help either.

Just like the majority here, my first was Emi as well. And, like many others, I was aiming for someone else, namely Lilly. But I did end up enjoying Emi's path. though. While it did have some awkward moments (I think we all know that one moment) I really liked how it ended, the last act was the highlight of it for me.

Just finished Rin's path yesterday, it got me pretty... Well, I'm not sure if it's the right word to use here, but exhausted. It just keeps going up and down and up and down and I just don't know what to think of it anymore. Not like that's a bad thing, I'm pretty sure it was meant to be like that. Rin just made me angry many times during that route.

Lilly and Hanako are definitely my favourites, especially Lilly. Not spoiling anything, but sadly I got the neutral ending with Lilly on my first try. I finished it at around 2 AM and I just couldn't sleep after witnessing that ending. It got me so damn depressed. The next day I found that there's a better ending, I just had to change one choice during the game. Replayed it and many tears were shed, most of them not that manly. Hanako's good ending got me crying as well. Actually, all the paths got me crying at many points.

Except Shizune, haven't started that path yet and I probably wont. Can't stand her, to be honest.

Hanako was my first. Moment I saw her I was like, "Yup. Going for Hanako."

No surprise that she's my favourite girl too.

So, I'm in the middle of playing Katawa Shoujo for the first time, and I've ended up on the Emi arc. I just ended up there, not intending to specifically go after her. I was actually thinking of going after Lilly but I ended up running with Emi and things kind of snowballed from there. Not that I really mind, it's a good story and Emi is a well written character.

The same happened for me except I intended to go with Hanako. The doctor said I should exercise and she offered to help. I didn't realise it led to her story, but found out from a friend that once you have started running you can't really change person.

I started again and decided to visit the library instead.

Although I tried Emi's story after. I have gone through all stories except Rin's which I have been halfway through for ages.

My first was Shizune. I can't believe I got her though what with everyone of my friends I introduced this visual novel to got Emi on their first try. I guess I got lucky when I decided to tell the Doctor that maybe I would run. Oh and Shizune was the one I wanted.

Hanako was my first Katawa Shoujo girl.

I was actually really happy about that, because I was interested in pursuing her anyway, but I made sure that on my first playthrough I was answering everything "naturally" (the way I would in real life).

I was aiming for Rin, but got Emi.

Unlike most choices, this decision will either have you forever locked with Emi, or never locked with Emi. Once you say "Go for it" for example, you are now locked into playing in Emi's path forever, regardless of the previous choices you made.

Guess that makes sense, but still sort of annoying. I was following the same logic as you (not running = potential heart attack).

I went for Hanako. I find her extremely shy demeanour to be relatable as well as adorable. I managed to get the good ending with no save scumming (Unlike SOMEONE who save scums ALL THE TIME!)

My second playthrough was with Emi, and on my third playthrough I will go for Lilly.

It's ok, i've stopped now. For reals...

Yeah I kinda accidentally started the Emi path as well. My beast reading speed made me click the race her option when advancing dialogue... Oops.

I doubt I would have chosen that option had I read it properly. Yeah Hisao, race a member of the track team with your shit heart good job friend!

I guess Hanako next or maybe Shizune? Whichever flag I stumble upon first I guess. After I finish Emi's route first of course. I can't just leave a route half done now can I? WWKD?

I'm really surprised at how good the main character is. Like, he's actually relatable and sympathetic as a character and stuff. Wowsers Batman!
