I was torn between "Raaaargggh i am a dinsoaur" and "Yep, and I'm really gonna go for it"

I got confused and went with dinosaur opinion :<

That said, Yes.... I have new years resolutions and I shall go for them or else I will be pretty disappointed with my self-discipline.

Can't think of one, never can. I don't think there's anything within my power I can do to make my life better.

Odd, I just pictured banjo going super-sayan after reading that last part. Now, my resolutions

1. Read quote above (Unlikely this one will happen)
2. Finally make that god damn film
3. Be more chill

Very simple.

1. lose 30 (more) pounds.

2. Finish Dead Money DLC

3. Maybe get a job... maybe.

Easily obtained... more or less.

I dunno. I once tried it, and it didn't even hold for my buss back to my place.
(It was a "don't eat candy for a year" promise, and I broke it from the temptations of snacks sold on board. But hey, I was 12-14, can ya blame me?)

But, I suppose some achievable goals would straighten me up if I summoned the discipline to follow them through....

1; Get a girlfriend. Loving or feeling lust won't matter. Just be close to one.

2; Take up parkour again (that's freerunning, if you speak American instead of English... Although it is French-originated... Whatever!)
and/or get built up physically.

3; Become more socially opened and perhaps achieve some friends I got things in common with. My brother and the classmates are just not enough.

For one year, it might as well be a millennium. Or that's what I've gone to know anyways.

Mine is to make next year better than this one, which slowly turned into a total disaster.

Not really a resolution, but we shall see, eh?

So yeah, dinosaur times:].

1. Get my driver's license before the start of the summer.

2. Look into getting a part-time job.

Those two seem to be pretty common around here.

3. Look at post-secondary education options more seriously, it's time.

4. Continue my self improvement campaign.

And now some fun stuff.

5. Learn to play some songs on the guitar.

6. Watch a few movies in theatres. I usually wait for a DVD/Blu-ray release but with Captain America and Thor I really want to see them both in theatres.

7. Continue gaming.

8. Make a list of all the movies that I watch, I already do so with books and comics so I might as well start with the movies.

That's all.

My resolution this year is to see a new film in theatres every week. I go to the movies a lot as is, but the goal here is to get me out seeing more stuff than I'd usually see, and expand my horisons a bit.

-m
I lived about a two minute walk (1:55, I timed it) from a great movie theater last year. I set a goal to see at least one movie a week when I moved in; I love Sunday matinees. Sadly, I only saw about three the whole time I lived there. I instantly regret what I wasted the day I moved out.

OT: I was on crutches/rehabbing for the past six months. Despite what people have commented to me, I've put on a little extra weight. "My child", I usually refer to it as. Well, my plan is to abort this child starting January 1st. I've always lived an active lifestyle, so I'm not too concerned with it. My biggest problem is squeezing into snug clothes for the next couple of months.

I'm gonna lose weight. I'd be happy with 190 lbs. I'm about 240 right now (probably more since my whole break has consisted of me eating and going on the computer)
AND
I'm gonna try to work up the courage to ask out the girl i like

I voted give me two weeks and I'll fail because every other time I've set those exact two goals thats exactly what happens

EDIT: Also get a new job. I technically have one but its seasonal so I'm out of work from mid-fall until mid-spring and it sucks

EDIT #2: Just came up with another: practice my guitar more so that I can play more than just a few easy songs poorly

Awww. That post saddens me. Have faith. Also, I noticed (not unexpected) that there is a handful of lose weight goals. I'm thinking some sort of Escapist fit group or something should be created. It just seems like a lot of people throughout threads mention weight and what not, and I think some sort of help group might be good.

2. finally get around to passing my driving test
I approve of this! Some hints from a lightly-seasoned (10 years without any major mishaps and a clean slate) driver to help:

1) Don't buy a Prius, G-Wiz or any other so-called "Eco-Cars". They are either worse for the environment than a normal car, lethal or both...plus you will look like a prize bellend in one.

2) That said, big 4x4's are designed to go off-road. You don't need a Range Rover to pop to the shops / take the kids to school. A normal saloon will do just as well and, unlike a big 4x4 / SUV, use less fuel than the Saturn V 1st stage.

3) Front wheel drive is for the feeble (although acceptable for a new driver still finding his/her feet).

4) Driving round with your stereo up full and windows down will make everyone assume (correctly) that you are a cock.

5) If you install a brace of 15-in subs in your boot then do the above, there will be no doubt as to your status as a cock.

6) Being serious for a moment - it may sound like a cliche but you only TRULY start learning to drive once you have passed your test and get out there on your own.

Honestly, regardless of the car (unless it's one of the ones I mentioned earlier), your first drive on your own, without dual controls or a friendly hand on your shoulder is a daunting but liberating experience and I honestly wish you the very best of luck with your endeavour!

Anyway, onto my resolutions so far:

1) One day, I will own a car with a socking-great V8, big carbs and really shitty gas-mileage (this one was dreamed up when I was pissed as a fart but still holds true).

2) I will be more productive, art-wise. My completed picture count for 2010 stands at 18 which is woeful. For someone who wants to make more money (maybe even a living someday) out of his artwork, I'm so slack it's untrue!

That's as far as I got so far. I need to replace the alternator belt on my car pretty soon but that hardly counts...

Wardy
I agree on SUVs and load car stereos. Remember that the neighborhood doesn't share your bad taste in music.

We need better mufflers on motorcycles, especially Harley-Davidsons!

Let me add one. LEARN to drive a stick shift!

It depends on what type of Eco cars. Dual gas/electric motors seems idiotic to me, but the cars coming out that are electric with a small gas generator to charge the batteries(thats if you need more then 30-50 miles range in a day) are a good option.
