Poll: Your opinion is needed!

Sooo pretty fundamental question, (hence the rather vague thread title) can physical relationships be meaningless, or is it impossible to have physical relationships that don't register on at least some emotional level. People seem pretty divided about this, as a quick test, think about which of your friends you could kiss (reasonably seriously) and then act just the same with them as before, im gonna bet its not everyone, even if you do know them well.

Films and other media tend to dictate that they must mean something (eg. The American, or No Strings Attached)

I can't do one night stands or kiss people I don't feel romanticall inclined towards. I mean, I guess I could, but I would be very uncomfortable with it. I don't engage in a physical relationship with someone unless I have some sort of emotional investment. I don't even hug people all that much unless I know them well or they're family. I'm not big on the whole PDA thing either though, so that have something to do with that.

I certainly like the physical aspect of relationships, but for me, I need to be in a relationship to do it. Others, not so much. So it depends on the person.

One thing I've noticed with polls right, Is if you put an option that has the word 'depends' in it. You've just destroyed your poll. OFCOURSE IT DEPENDS! It always depends and people who cant be bothered to think of a one sided argument are going to click it along with every other person who either doesnt know how to asnwer the question or wants to be a nice, fair escapist.

I'm always happy to respond to the subject you addressed but if you want real results from a poll, make em work for it, clicking 'depends' is just too damn easy.
I also clicked 'depends' because it does depend, You dont need a poll to tell you that.

Pretty much this, I don't think I've ever done anything with someone I don't have some emotional connection to. Though I think it has more to do with my relationships in the past that ended terribly, so I can find it difficult to trust people.

Yes, a purely physical relationship can be meaningless. A one night stand is technically a one night purely physical relationship, and those're meaningless (emotionally).

They can be, just make sure shes on the same wavelength as you are, or else you might receive some very angry text messages the next day.. and as they (William Congreve) say, Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
