Pyromancy is probably the most visually impressive (tied with lightning powers) but properly applied Geomancy sounds like it would be both practical and awesome.

You can build a house and shove a stalagmite up someone's arse.

I find it very hard to choose between Ice and Electricity for my favourite type, I also tend to make/imagine some characters who control wind or darkness (manipulating shadows is just really cool)

Fun note about mental control, It requires overriding electrical signals in the brain and forcing firing patterns to realign. Guess what two powers can negate this type of attack?

A stronger Mental controller can prevent your overriding patterns and an electromaster can create disrupter fields in and around neurons to prevent control.

Also let me ask something, power beckons competition to see who's stronger but what if there was a power so great, so absolute that no one would dare challenge you, no one would fight you, and all kneel before you?

If I could only have one I would go for psycho. It is easily the most useful. Swaping bodies, mind control, mental blasts, telekinesis, alter the minds and memories of others, cause pain, alter perception and more.

Kinetomancer. Yes it sounds ridiculous, but with telekinesis you can pull most of the same stuff that the others can.

Rock? Let me just throw this cliff at you
Fire? Let me just compress and rotate this ball of air fast enough that it ignites.
Aero? Easy compared to the previous
Hydro? If there's a lake nearby I'll use that, otherwise rapid condensation should do the trick. Or we can do a Magneto and use blood plasma, but that's kind of grim

Electro and psycho are a bit more difficult, but with enough fine level control tuning you could generate electricity by literally ripping electrons out of atomic shells.

And who needs control of the dead when you can leave them inanimate and just lob them at people? Or reproduce the intestines bit in Brain Dead...

Although I would say the best powers are reality-warping powers or control over fundamental concepts.

The youkai of boundaries, all boundaries, conceptual or otherwise, can be manipulated by her. Space, Time, even the concept of "who is stronger" is completely at her whim and can be rend apart and reorganize for her victory.

Your power would manipulate reality's laws, her's would warp it's boundaries. I'm not sure who would win

Edit: to illustrate what I mean by boundary control, a friend told me an odd feat of hers. She saw a reflection of a moon on a lake and jumped into it. After that, she had landed on the moon.

My guess is that she reorganized what is considered the boundary between the lake and the moon by making it the lake surface instead of the atmosphere and space or she reorganized what is considered the boundary between the object and reflection and by jumping onto the reflection, actually jumped on the object

Control over fundamental concepts of reality. Those are the better powers because you can do almost anything as long as you can reason it out. And also as long as it is vague enough.

I've always had a love for earth bending type magic, thanks to Avatar: the Last Airbender. Though honestly I've always enjoyed that style of magic, but my love of it was crystallized (haHAH!! earthy pun!!) with Toph. Usually those who wield earth magic are portrayed as determined, strong people with a rock hard purpose and will, who usually end up in scenes of awesome defiance of overwhelming forces. I always get a kick out of those type stories/scenes, so yeah, earth magic for the win!.

What I wouldn't give for the power to conjure ice/cold. I hate the heat, triggers my hives and makes me feel awful. I look at people who willingly visit tropical areas as my mortal enemies.

Technically the actual term isn't Earthomancy but Geomancy. Also, if memory serves, -mancy is used for divinations not offensive magic. Your looking for -kinetic or -kinesis. Its a common mistake to mix the two, -mancy and -kinesis.

So to that end Umbrakinesis or Gravitokinesis. Most likely the latter as I rather be a biotic lol xD

Either electro or aero, now that I think more, probably aero, I can kill people with electro, but that's it. Far more possibility with controlling the wind.

Psychomancy always holds an attraction for me - control your enemy's mind, and you no longer have an enemy. It's always seemed very cruel, however, so I'm reluctant to choose it. Aeromancy's always been terribly underrated in my opinion. Not only do you literally have power anywhere above ground on Earth, but it's also related to stuff like electricity magic, so it's a bit of an all-inclusive thing. Plus, if it means I can summon a summer breeze any time I feel too hot, hell yeah.

Also control over basic elements as well as elementally neutrally abilities such as explosions.

I've always enjoyed the look of electricity magic, I always use the shock destruction spells in the Elder Scrolls for my mage characters. If it's mixed with a world of technology, you could have all sorts of power at your disposal.

Don't get me wrong, I also enjoy and see the potential in mind magic - but sometimes, I like to see it to believe it.
