I don't like Jake in his later years though.
him being a teenage brat and all.

Seen it a few times.

Never laughed during an episode.

I found it annoying but then again, it's a sitcom. How many sitcoms are actually good?

[sup][sup][sup]Psst...the answer is "none"[/sup][/sup][/sup]
Well, there are a few British sitcoms I find funny, but all of them are no longer airing anymore.
Okay, let me rephrase it. How many currently airing sitcoms are actually good?
Two and a half men? Hehe. It really comes down to your humor. A few are good, some are bad. Most are bad ofc.

Watch some good old british sitcoms and you'll soon change your tune.

Good examples would be Only Fools and Horses, Porrige, Open All Hours(in fact anything with Ronnie Barker), Red Dwarf and Black Adder if you don't find at least one of them funny you have no soul.

Married With Children, The Fresh Prince, Only Fools and Horses and some episodes of Seinfeld.

P.S. I hate 2 & 1/2 Men.

EDIT: Okay, some of you didn't get what I meant, so I'll rephrase the question to be more clear;

"How many currently airing sitcoms are actually good?"

Isnt that the show where two gay men (one open the other closet) adopt a son?
No....
Then what the hell am I thinking of???
I think there was a show that included a girl who was adopted by two gay men. What you're saying seems familiar, but I can't quite remember what it was called.

It isn't superduper funny.
But some episodes are lol.

I can think of a worse show like say, FAMILY GUY.
How is it worse? Because it's pointless joke after joke?
Family Guy (with the exception of the last 2 or 3 seasons) is the best comedy cartoon. Ever.
FG doesn't pretend to be something meaningful with a moral at the end, like many sitcoms do. It's just pure, mindless retardation; and I'm loving it.

My girlfriend and I watch it semi regularly and we like it a lot. Not every episodes are mad genius however. On the plus sides, the women in that show are gorgeous.

The thing I hate most about the show is the audience though. I don't need to be told when it's supposed to be funny.

Do you count things like Modern Family or the Office?

Anyway, it's an above average laugh-track sitcom, which means it only makes me want to kill the entire human race twice an episode, as opposed to the usual five.

I find myself in some crude limbo of like and hate between the show. One the one hand, it keeps entertained. On the other hand, the dialogue is horrendously predictable, and the character development is pretty much non-existent.

Which I hate about most sitcoms. The characters start and conclude episode 1 the same way they start and conclude episode 361.

The less mature side of me gets a good chuckle out of it, though.

So, last week I decided to have a sleep-over at a friend's house. At around midnight, one of my friends(There were several of us) decided that we should watch the ENTIRE 7th season of Two and a Half Men. My other friends, being unashamed fan-boys of the show, jumped on this opportunity, nearly drooling at the mouth.
Few people can comprehend my hatred for that damn show. For the 4 or 5 hours we spent watching that show, there wasn't even a SINGLE moment in which I laughed. I just found all the jokes to be stale, dry and generally unfunny, but for some reason, my friends loved it to bits. After a few hours, I decided to pack it up and leave(I lived about 20 minutes away by walk) after one of my friends said I had no sense of humor.

Is there something that I'm missing here!? What is so special about this show and why? Do I really have no sense of humor?

So Escapists, what is your opinion on this show?
Your friends have a terrible sense of humour, introduce them to some Arrested Development and if they prefer 2 & 1/2 Men shoot them, it's for the good of the world

I abhor it, yet most of my friends seem to find it hilarious. It really doesn't have any redeeming quality, apart from being slightly more interesting to watch than nothing at all.

I've never seen much of it, but now that we're seeing more and more of Charlie Sheen and how much of a douche he can be, my desire to check it out is waning.

I think it's pretty good, not the best show in the world, but certainly not the worst sitcom to come out. Don't really get why shows like family guy constantly rip on it, especially when their show is just as unintelligent most of the time. (Saying that, I do like family guy too. I remember the first time it came out, along with Joey on channel 5, in Britain that is, and it was easily the best out of the two.
