I like the discussions and debates, that can lead to hilarity.
My most disliked board in /int/
Why? Racism, Racism everywhere!

4chan is a pretty cool guy. eH posts randomness and doesn't afraid of anything.
Now, after failing that meme... I think it's a fun thing to look through once in a while.

However, I get more lulz out of ED than 4chan. Not sure how related it is though.

4chan is there to take the scum that seems to fill the internet and put it in 1 place so that they will not bother websites (as much). i know some people would love to see 4chan gone but you just have to remember that if 4chan was wiped off the face of the earth on this day and was never revived, there would be a new site that would take its place.

am also so many great fun things have come from 4chan like most of the worlds memes

in my mind i truly love 4chan it helps me sleep at night knowing that the FBI only have to monitor 1 site

i like the idea of it, giving the entire world a voice to saying anything they like, and having what they say completley uncensored. Which sounds like a really good idea in theory but its pretty messed up in reality.

4chan is one of those things that if it just kept to itself would be harmless.

But no. You can't go on a video game site without seeing /b/tards fucking it up (GameFAQs in particular is 4chan's garbage dumpster, and this site is often not much better) and its close association with geek culture and nerds in general is why I will never, ever identify as a geek or a nerd.

I think Something Awful's forum moderators have the right idea---anything that reeks of 4chan means the instant banning of the idiot who brought it up.

I've never been there, so I can't really say an opinion that isn't drizzled in the "4chan is the scum of the earth" preconception. (Even though it's only /b/ according to some comments I've found on this site.)

It's a forum like any other. Why do people talk about that site as if it's something important or unique? It's like the legend that makes itself, fueled by its own outsider legacy. You'd think, by the way people go on, it was some legendary cauldron of evil and random acts of mass kindness. It's a website. People go there. Who cares.

Nothing to see there. Move along.

The point would be the fact that you're anonymous and there is next to no moderation (at least on /b/). This attracts shady (and often talented and unique) individuals (though mostly it's just rate-my-genitalia threads and shitty trolling).

4chan is in fact the source of the vast majority of internet jokes and culture, acknowledge it or not- I'd say it's a fact by now. Not just "another place", since there is really no place quite like it (except the myriad of less successful copies).
