So, you know the little button in the Youtube player interface that makes the screen a bit larger? something of a compromise between Youtube's default small player and fullscreen?

Well, I like LIKED that, the size was perfect for browsing without having to lean in to the screen to see things properly, and at the same time left the rest of the page open for commenting and what have you. But just now I suddenly couldn't do that. The button now functions as ANOTHER fullscreen button, only this fullscreen has a pop-up interface that covers half the screen. You can't skip to a place in the video, instead there are rewind/fast forward buttons, and you can't pause by clicking anywhere on the screen. It needlessly bring up all your playlists, but related videos are nowhere to be found.

And there's a history of this. Profiles, Playback pages, comments section, front page, everything on youtube from the page layout to the player interface seems to change at least twice a month. Not all of these changes are bad, but never do we get any sort of opt out option or saying in this, and never do they announce it beforehand!

Is anyone else fed up with this?

I'm not inclined to care. Everything on the site functions just as well as it use to. The only thing I had a real problem with was having to link my google account to my YT one, and even that was more of a minor annoyance than an actual inconvenience.

It's just a matter of adjusting, dude.

Totally angry at YouTube.

Whenever I log in, it's nice to see top-viewed videos, featured videos, or whatever, but it's extremely fucking annoying to see the "Recommended for you" videos, and all your subscriber's videos, and their favorites, all on the front page.

When I go there, I don't expect to see a clusterfuck of usually unrelated videos that I can't find a way to remove.

My youtube has stopped working from a few hours ago. Not sure if that's to do with it.

I meant to say yes.

I don't see the point of all these changes youtube are making lately, they aren't too bad but the site is definitely worse than it once was. Really don't like subscriptions anymore...

They honestly need to create a poll system asking, Hmmm we have an idea for a change in the interface layout, do you agree with it? If they reverted to the original interface it will be a party across the world.

I was more fed up with youtube skipping to the "sign up for google you fagot" page even though I specifically disabled the option in firefox to allow sites to move on their own. The little "allow?" button showed up, but then youtube does it anyway. Now I HAVE to sign up to google to sign into my youtube account. Google is such a fucking awful company, the size of the like button and all those little changes don't bother me anymore

What are you talking about? Youtube's interface has remained the same, relatively speaking; the buttons are still there.

The home page is mildly different, but I never used that much either way; in fact, if anything I'd say the site has become significantly better.

I'm just pissed off at the subscription cluster fuck system they implemented.

I really liked having a window of all of my videos, as oppossed to spamming the entire page length with videos. The old system was efficient and worked. Now I have to scroll up and down my page to find a video I want to watch.

Honestly? I don't really go on youtube a whole lot anymore, so I don't really mind.

I think YouTube's interface is absolutely horrible and it could do with a major overhaul (mostly the website though, the Flash player is pretty okay). If they want to do that incrementally, then so be it.

Having said that, I still have the button that is mentioned in the OP and I see no reason why they should remove that (although I can't really imagine a situation where I would actually use it).

Sort of update: I was going to send a question about this to Youtube, but their contact page made me give up. Seriously, half the links go back to the main page.

They keep making these little tweaks here and there, and I'm increasingly finding buttons to be somewhere else than I expect them to be, because they've been moved around. Also the comments section has been through at least 2 significant layout changes since the start of the year. It gives one the feeling the whole site is made out of some sort of ooze.

Really? I still have that button....I don't know what you're talking about, actually.
It's still there, it just works differently now, It brings up a screenfilling player, with a horrible interface.
