Starcraft 2 was my last one so RTS for me. Fine with me since I suck at RTS and need to get better anyway.

Visual novel...if you could call that a game. Perhaps Total Annihilation would be better (i played that before the VN).

I could live with both. TA has ECKSPLOSHIONS!!!1 and the overall premise is very cool. If depressing.

I just purchased and played through Heavy Rain this afternoon. I'm not sure what genre it would qualify as. I mean, it was little more than an interactive movie that was actually a pretty bad movie and an even worse game. In spite of that, I suspect it will remain memorable in spite of fairly glaring oversights in the narrative. Were I to pigeon hole it, I'd probably say it most closely resembles an adventure game but there were no real puzzles, just a lot of hand dexterity tests.

Man, now that I think about it, I'd really pity anyone who was playing the CD-i Zelda games at the time the lock when into effect.

You'd be stuck with crappy off-system spin-off's forever. T_T

Well, I also have Starcraft 2, and with the custom map community if I had to pick a game to play the rest of my life, it'd be a Blizzard developed RTS, just because of custom maps.

Mass Effect 2, and my response is a resounding "meh". I'm not exactly sold on RPGs (TBH this is more lack of exposure than anything else). I really like ME2 but only because it's only an RPG in the loosest sense of the word, and without the third-person shooter part I doubt it'd have held my attention. I guess I'd feel a bit cheated by the fact that I was locked into a genre by playing a game which isn't that representative of the genre. And losing TF2 and Valve in general would be heartbreaking.
