I've read a couple, and like a couple of his points, but I gave up on it completely a while back after he (I can only assume) wrote it after a day of major drinking. He mentions in his article about video games some bullshit about love being some arbitrary and fake emotion.

Basically, my view of him was forever tainted and now I see him as a pathetic man that can't get past a heartbreak.

Eh, the Extra Credits guys, their kind of gimmick is way different and, well, a lot more professional because, well, Yahtzee's games weren't exactly top notch, he himself admitted it on Something Awful anyway. Still, those guys sometimes take shit a bit too far, a bit too seriously and get carried away, you know, the COME ON MAN kind of thing. But for the most part, it's good insight while Yahtzee is a bit predictable.

That being said, yeah why not switch for a gimmick

If it happened, it would be interesting to see indeed. I doubt that Daniel Floyd and co could actually savage a game as well as Yahtzee does though. They do not seem like the type. Nor do I think that Yahtzee would lend himself well to thoughtful videogame commentary.

I'm going to have to disagree on the latter. Yahtzee isn't quite that scathing simply by nature. It's the style he effects for his videos. While he's still rather brutal in his Extra Punctuation reviews, it's a much different kind of scathing, and I certainly think he could manage a thoughtful chill review that would fit Extra Credits.

I would definitely be more interested to see how the nice guys at Extra Credits would do making a belligerent and vulgar review to fit Zero Punctuation, though.

It would be interesting to see the two switch, for sure. I have no doubt that Yahtzee could in fact offer some serious insight in the world of gaming, especially in STARTING ONE. *side cough* And I have no doubt that The Extra Creditz gang could offer some jovial critique (or not depending on the case...) on more than one video game. So on both ends, this one-day switch could only be a plus.

This would be entertaining indeed. Though I'd bet the EC crew couldn't bring themselves to be as harsh as Yahtzee, seeing as they actually work in the industry and have stated before that it is a lot smaller than you might think, so the next time they saw someone who worked on the game they blasted things would be really awkward, and just think if James had to work _with_ that person.

Haha! True, that could be a little awkward. Still especially with the level of designer knowledge I would like to see what they would critique about a game.
