Zero Punctuation is really funny.
That is the plain and simple truth.
But I thought it might be funny if every 2nd or 3rd week, He released a video of him playing a game but the commentary on the video as he plays through.
Please give your thoughts on this, is it a good idea? or am i an idiot?

Also, his strength is in talking really fast. You can't talk that fast without knowing exactly what you'll say before you say it.

Captions, not audio, but here's more or less what you're looking for: http://lparchive.org/LetsPlay/index.php?sauth=Yahtzee&search=1
If you're interested in people's commentaries of video games, we have a usergroup and a few 'Scapist Let's Players in the community. I can recommend some good LPs if you'd like!

Also, while Yahzee has brought countless members to the 'Scapist, myself included, please know that we're a community with more to offer than just what is offered in the magazine and video sections. As mentioned before, usergroups are a good place to find like-minded gamers. The 'Scapist IRC is also an amusing, albeit dangerously silly, place to hang out.
Welcome!

As Erana pointed out, he already did a Let's Play. If he had wanted to do a running commentary style instead of text, he would have done it then.

Besides, he does podcasts with Matt and Yug, Zero Punctuation, Extra Punctuation, he's got a website and a new project he's supposedly working on (GameDamage), plus he's running a bar.

How much Yahtzee is enough for you?!?

Interesting. He could probably pull off some pretty good LPs, but then again, he wouldn't be the best because that really isn't his style. He does reviews, and at any rate, you really can't make jokes very well on the spot like that. Some people can't make jokes, but they're just interesting people, and that's the kind of person that should do LPs. Yahtzee's better at what he already does, I think.

There are 3 types of gamers:
1. The "Scream loud angry gamers" remember angry german kid?
2. The silent emotionless gamers
3. The normal gamer that accualy has offline friends

My point is that this idea would only be funny if Yahtzee is a #1 gamer

Also I think its taking the yahtzee craze a bit too far if we have
"The Escapist presents. Yahztee playing games!"
after that comes
"Yahtzee unboxes games and his thoughts"
"Yahtzee picks his nose"
"The Yahtzee show, with hidden cameras in his house"

point is, I think zero punctuation is enough. Watching him play a game seems a bit arbitrary.

Especially as most of the points he brings up are the culmination of his experience playing the game. Its unlikely that everything he has to say will appear in one play session of normal gameplay.

As funny as Yahtzee is, he's best scripted. He was okay joining Unskippable with Graham and Paul, but Graham did a better ZP for X Blades, and the "Yahtzee Goes to Washington DC" is one of the only ZPs I never rewatch. I watched the pilot of Game Damage, and was not thrilled by it.

Zero Punctuation is funny because he writes it beforehand, and the Extra Punctuation, same thing. It's what he does well. Me, I'm good at one-liners. Sometimes. My friends don't tell me I should be a comedian or anything. I think Yahtzee knows what he does well and is sticking with it. Not that he shouldn't try more things, like a freaking Ratchet & Clank game for crying out loud, just fine-tune it a bit before you send it out to the masses.

No, as his strength is in written and thought-out material rather than on-the-spot commentary.
I concur.

Go watch the the Washington D.C. episode por la ejemplo.

He's busy enough, let him be. His writing is his strength anyway, I don't think it would be that funny for him to do a commentary.
