Can we all agree that the Zombie "plague" has been done to death? This is a pretty good example of why.

I voted yes, but I don't mind zombie or undead enemies. I prefer supernatural undead enemies as opposed to the virus outbreak or "experiment gone wrong" kind of zombies. It's cool to be in a dark scary dungeon and run into one or two creepy zombies in their tombs as opposed to just mowing down hundreds of infected humans just to get to the other side of the map, or survive a wave in a horde mode scenario.

I voted yes, but with the reservation that even though they've been over saturating things, they have done so somehow without ever really having a high point. Literature had World War Z and the Walking Dead, I suppose, but they were rare bright spots. In film and in gaming in particular, the offerings have been really underwhelming. It's weird that so much could be made so often about a single topic and yet almost none of it worthwhile. There was never a solid, definitive zombie game. They're all just same-y action games and the zombies could be easily swapped out with any other melee-based enemy. Romero's once lauded return on the cinematic side of things ended up being such appalling and embarrassing substandard fare that I suspect most people don't even realize he actually made three new Dead movies. The best zombie movie made in this whole stretch was Shaun of the Dead, which is telling.

Zombies work in some cases, such as the Half-Life series where they are present but by no means the focus, used more for coloring the universe than to define it.
As such, I think zombies should be relegated to the sidelines of media, not thrown away.
