Allright, in my incredibly limited free time i'm gonna right a story, a short story, I dunno, 50 page max, with zombies in it, but the characters will all be submitted by you, the general public. If you're interested in pseudo-you joining pseudo-me in the fight for pseudo-survival, please submit a brief (and i mean, very brief) character profile. Name, rough age, gender, rough description, small backstory, what you want me to do with your character (no promises on that last one, i'll try and fit it in with whatever story I pull out of my ass). Then when i'm done...well, i don't know, i'll find some way to get it to everyone who gets involved

I really want a zombie game that makes you fear the zombies... you need to be able to be infected and die. Every zombie game I've ever played skirts around their most terrifying attribute - the ability to turn you with a single bite. That needs to be explored imo.

I'd like a zombie-story that's set from the zombie's perspective, for once. Perhaps the sickness affect certain people differently, turning them into intelligent zombies or some other sort of mutant? And then, they are hounded by the army for being infected?

Idea: a group of Homo Nova band together and take refuge in a small town on the countryside, which they fortify and defend against the mindless zombies. Then, one day, an army airplane arrives, and the nightmare seems to be over. Until it drops a thermobaric bomb on the town.

Or: the population in a large city is infected by the zombie-disease. The majority becomes mindless, but many retain intelligence and band together to form a new society for the likes of them. Sort of like the Forsaken of Warcraft.
Then, the army arrives to retake the city and kill anyone infected. But their attempts at wiping out the Homo Novas grinds into a halt and becomes a vicious Rattenkrieg under the ruined city.

In the end, the army and the old humans are forced to abandon their plans of taking the city and retreat, while the undead begins to make contact with other groups like them across the world, and can slowly begin to lay the foundations for the new world order.
Okay, that scenario is a bit too meaty for a short story, perhaps, but I'm sure it can be useful somewhere.

That's actully I really cool idea I could easily see going somewhere interesting. Kinda like the next step in evolution for humanity. Those who failed to evolve became mindless zombies. Those who did evolve now have several advantages depending on what the virus was like, perhaps immunity to most dieseases, advanced senses, perhaps even some kinda telepathy, theres plenty you could do with that.

Indeed, that's my idea as well. Sort of like the Dark Ones from Metro 2033, who evolved staggering psycic powers in addition to being more adapted to the new enviroment.

It could lead to several interesting encounters with the remaining Homo Sapiens, who are torn between eliminating them as an infected threat to the species or co-existing with them, while inviting discussion of who is truly "more" evolved.
