Lets get the literally out of the way first, shall we?
There we are, and now for the figurative: have we all had about enough of these buggers yet? I mean fads always come and go, I'm just wondering what the expiration date on Zombies is. Seems like we've been riding this horse very hard and it's showing signs of getting pretty tired and weak. How much longer can it last? That's the question I'm here to ask, by pointing out the example of the Macarena.
There was at least an entire year when you couldn't turn on your radio without hearing the Macarena. That song and dance was played over and over and over until finally everyone just collectively said "ENOUGH ALRREADY!!!" then it dropped off the face of the planet. People became absolutely sick of that song and it's dance, so I'm just wondering if/when the same thing will happen with Zombies after many years already of having zombie hordes thrown at us in movies and games.
Just seems to me that they're all starting to get rather bland and "samey". I mean, yeah...I get it...more frickin' zombies. Not much else you can do with the idea that hasn't already been done to undeath *drum rimshot*.
So what do you think, my fellow Escapists? Just can't get enough of that brain-splattering Zombie goodness? Or are you starting to get a wee bit tired of it all?
Edit: To clarify, I'm talking more about zombie games, specifically, but in general the whole zombie trend. I'll understand if a mod thinks this should be moved to the "off topic" forum rather than "gaming discussion", though.
