I don't think their technology is getting too far along, but I do like that it is in general, with some exceptions (Vinyl Scratch's turntables, the arcade machine in the Hearts and Hooves ep), not very recent let alone current.Luna said:But what I want to talk about is this: Season 2 made life for ponies look more advanced and modern. You now have cranes, hospitals, dams, a printing press, a Priest, legitimate baby ponies, the more frequent use of trains, as well as a smaller regard for dangerous monsters affecting the ponies, though this is still apparent, etc
One of the reasons why I liked the show was how quaint life was, how it was simple and to a degree, old fashioned. I don't want to see the show become about 6 ponies that live in Ponytropilis and listen to music on their I ponies, where the children play hooves of War, and where elected politicians are more important than the monarchs.
I just want their lives to remain simple. Anybody else know this feel?
I particularly agree with the bold. Episodes about the relationships between the main characters are usually good.OneBrokePony said:I don't think their technology is getting too far along, but I do like that it is in general, with some exceptions (Vinyl Scratch's turntables, the arcade machine in the Hearts and Hooves ep), not very recent let alone current.Luna said:But what I want to talk about is this: Season 2 made life for ponies look more advanced and modern. I know what you're talking about though. That their lives are rather simple and old-fashioned, and they live in a small town where everybody knows everybody is part of the appeal to me as well. I'm not sure season 2 made their lives more advanced, but it did show their world as being more complex than it had been. I always like it better when it's just about the relationships between the main characters.
Shameless self-plugging, Calbeck? How could you stoop so low?Calbeck said:Fallout Equestria: New Pegas.
Scared, squirlboy? Good... that means your brain is working.

EXTRA POINTS FOR SERENDIPITY: This is Post #666.
Tsk tsk... if I were plugging, I'd've put in a link to the novel! -Melon Hunter said:Shameless self-plugging, Calbeck? How could you stoop so low?
Yeah, but it's the fact that they seem, at least to me, to be talking about it EVERYWHERE. Gaming forum? Time to talk about ponies! Political forum? Time to talk about ponies!Aidinthel said:Yes, it's almost like the show is popular or something, and people like to talk about things they enjoy.BaronUberstein said:What I find odd is how the bronies seem to spread into everything like a cancer. Oh, new page. Escapist MLP user group link:

I recommend that anyone who joins uncheck the "Chat Notifications" option when prompted, as the group chat tends to be quite active.

majority of the voice actors in the show?
yea, they also did voices for other shows.
Just look up Tara Strong.
So he could be there for the ponies, or he could be there for the voice actors.
OT: I remember the day Ponies invaded 4chan, the hive of scum and villainy it is, and the resulting flame/ban wars.
Then bronies.memebase.com came to be, and people rejoiced, a place to keep the bronies together and a place for bronies to hang out at.
A few days ago I decided to check out /k/ to see what's been going on, the usual "I want a $150 gun" 'lol, get a mosin naggant poorfag!', but I saw something up on the board directory.
/mlp/
now, I know 4chan, I know the dumbasses that post there, I know what to expect.
I was expecting porn, guro, hate threads, wannabe /i/nsurgents, the normal for a board that isn't /b/.
First thread I saw? Post your epic pony pictures here! And yea, most of those pictures were pretty boss.
Other threads?
Fluttershy is next to you, wat do.
check out my doubles!
post your oc ponies.
the list could go on, but the one thing I didn't see was the usual hate that other boards get.
Ladies and Gentelmen, 4chan, the bastards behind nearly everything that could be considered bastardy has a board full of love and tolerance.
mind. fucking. BLOWN.
I mean, I even tried to troll them to see what would happen, one thread in particular was asking why artists felt the need that their humanized interpritations of the mane 6 were correct, the main argument was black rarity.
I planted the bait, "Because rarity is worst pony".
nothing, for two hours I watched that thread, various attempts at trolling and none took the bait.
I was shocked.
4Chan, now with 20% more love and tolerance.
so, yea, that kind of changed my whole outlook on the denizens of that awful website.
[sub]also, supposedly season 3 will be geared more towards fans, but that doesn't change the fact that Rarity is worst pony[/sub]
Sorry mate but AT doesn't exactly have a good standing fandom either. Did you ever hear about the phone in opinion thing that mathematical had about PBxMarcy being legitimate.Doitpow said:I do too... but please don't say it too loud, the internet might hear and ruin it aswell.TizzytheTormentor said:I vastly prefer Adventure Time
I have literally no idea what you just said. But yeah I'm sure there are a lot of Adventure Time nuts out there, I'm just glad they are not in my face all day.Contradiction said:Sorry mate but AT doesn't exactly have a good standing fandom either. The only ongoing show I've seen in this thread without a completely deplorable fandom is RS, because God knows that Gumball fans have the crazy (I love Gumball but I try to stay away from discussion as much as possible).
