It is simply the nature of things, but its likely happened that you have been going through a game, movie, series, etc. and saw something that just made you ask the question "why is this here?" this is the thread for those moments.

I've recently been watching an anime by the name of Sword Art Online (its awesome and I LOVE it). In the most recent episodes there have been excessive amounts of fan service. Now, i'm all for some tasteless fan service every now and again, but it was just completely over the top during the most recent arc.

So, what is your favorite, or as least favorite as the case may be, or otherwise memorable moments that in your opinion are poor design choices?

I think the iOS system still has a pretty bad interface. The thing is all about being relatively buttonless, but that just causes problems. Writing on the thing is REALLY frustrating. If you notice you made a mistake several words back, you'll have to try and touch the word you need to correct. Often times the thing will think you're trying to copy the word. Also, the lack of arrow buttons means you can just go back a few words without having to backspace and delete everything. I tried using my iPad for screenwriting, and it just isn't working.

Non-media related, but my city designed our mass transit system terribly, primarily with our freight and light-rail trains. Our freight trains often block off busy roads in the middle of rush hour, and our light-rail pedestrian trains are built above ground, and it's not uncommon for them to get involved in car accidents. I guess our city thought subways were too mainstream.

Some power-ports in my house have knobs on them which prevent putting in a plug. Genius.

Gentlemen, I bring you the cadoozle lead pencil

It's an amusing little lead pencil designed to looking like a regular pencil. There is ONE major VERY poor design choice in this magnificent piece of advanced human technology and paragon of high culture: The pencil is loaded from the back end through a tube, and the eraser acts as the cover of said tube. Why is this bad you ask? Simple: By the act of using the eraser you slowly wear away the cover, and with it the ability of the pencil to both hold multiple leads, but also continue to look like a regular pencil. The user must sparingly use/not use the eraser, or accept having to replace the pencil every time you wear an eraser out and expose the tube.
