Halo predates WoW.Gestapo Hunter said:whats with video games and people named Jenkins cause i swear they are always getting killed. First it was the guy in WoW,then the marine in Halo, now the other marine in Mass Effect.
You should have made gameplay videos and post it over youtube while screaming in your mic like a retard, I'm sure you'd be e-famous by then.crimson5pheonix said:Man, I was running into stupid situations on purpose in FFXI before Leeroy was. You don't see any memes about me though >_>

well, there haven't been many (if any) helmets designed to stop bullets. The helmets are there to protect your noggin if it's still in one piece after you get shot and fall to the ground screamingxitel said:It's not as bad as unnamed characters. You know they're going to die. No matter what. And guys in shooters that actually wear helmets other than the Player. They always get shot (ironically, in the head is the most common).
Awwwwww, too bad... well so far so goodcrimson5pheonix said:My fraps wasn't working....Cyclomega said:You should have made gameplay videos and post it over youtube while screaming in your mic like a retard, I'm sure you'd be e-famous by then.crimson5pheonix said:Man, I was running into stupid situations on purpose in FFXI before Leeroy was. But if it's a shooter where we have already established that anti-bullet shields (for lack of a better term) exist, why is it that the guys without the helmets are less prone to getting shot in the head?Altorin said:well, there haven't been many (if any) helmets designed to stop bullets. Carbine, and yeah, that's kind of where I got the idea from. But if you look, it happens in a couple other games too. And let's not forget the characters that are about to retire or get leave. Fracture directly refrences this one. You're standing behind two random Atlantic Alliance soldiers (the good guys) one of them says "And I was about to go ohme next week. Hey, you don't think it's bad luck for me to say that, do you?" They turn a corner, and bam, dead.GothmogII said:xitel said:It's not as bad as unnamed characters. You know they're going to die. xD That perfectly describes that guy in Gears of War, he's one of the few people actually wearing his helmet like you said, and whaddyaknow? Boom! Headshot. Hilarious stuff.
Jenkins is a generic soldier name. Were I to write a piece of fiction with a Private/Corporal in it, it's almost guaranteed that at least one of them, somewhere, will be called Jenkins.Gestapo Hunter said:whats with video games and people named Jenkins cause i swear they are always getting killed. Commodore Jenkins? Rear Admiral Jenkins? Colonel Jenkins? How does that work for you?Amnestic said:Jenkins is a generic soldier name. If they get promoted to anything above Corporal they have to change their name to something better though. "Captain Jenkins" sounds silly to me.
that is probably because you're an uncreative prattledonkeyAmnestic said:Were I to write a piece of fiction with a Private/Corporal in it, it's almost guaranteed that at least one of them, somewhere, will be called Jenkins.
It's a rule of (my) fiction. Jenkins has to be used somewhere, even if it's just a one-line reference to him.Altorin said:that is probably because you're an uncreative prattledonkeyAmnestic said:Were I to write a piece of fiction with a Private/Corporal in it, it's almost guaranteed that at least one of them, somewhere, will be called Jenkins.
buddy.
They all sound silly. There's a reason Jenkins always gets killed off at the Private/Corporal stage. It's because all the other military ranks sound silly with his name. You could, perhaps, stretch him to Sergeant, but those are few and far between.crimson5pheonix said:Commodore Jenkins? Rear Admiral Jenkins? Colonel Jenkins? But General Jenkins sounds so right...Amnestic said:It's a rule of (my) fiction. There are better General's out there than Jenkins. Jenkins won't inspire fear and loyalty in the troops. Not like...General Ironside or something like that. But General Jenkins sounds so right...
What if it was "General Cannon Fodder"?Amnestic said:that's because you're an uncreative prattledonkeyAltorin said:My D&D games always include an ogre named Ugu..Amnestic said:It's a rule of (my) fiction. Jenkins has to be used somewhere, even if it's just a one-line reference to him.
