other wise, nothing a value lost here
I don't think "good people" were working at Zynga.

at the executive level sure, I'd tend to agree, but i'm talking about the 9-5ers :p the people with lives, and family's to feed, not some loser in a board room that'd make the word a better place by flinging him self out a he window of a highrise

Seems pretty fitting for a company who's business model consisted only of delivering minimal value trying to maximize revenue by hoping customers would pay them money for nothing. Why do people consider EA worse than Zynga again? At least EA puts some effort (and a lot of money) into their product : \
EA can often be very harsh to the developers/programmers that they employ. There's quite a few horror stories out there, though IIRC they have been improving. They both make awful games, but Zynga just tends to rip concepts off of other people.

EA also has more potential, all Zynga games tend to suck, but EA games are more...soulless. Close, but lacking that special something that makes them great.

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong exchange but Zynga closed at 5$ and haven't gone near 3$ ever. Mind you it was at just over 12$ not long ago but the article seems to be a little... off.

So by skinner box psychology, what do you mean? I remember an episode of Extra Credits discussing that issue, but I don't exactly remember what it is, or how it applies to Farmville.
The "slot machine" approach to gaming. See also: every loot-based game type (Diablo/ARPG, Just about every MMO, etc...)

I hate Zynga's guts. Not the games they make, but their business/corporation/management attitude. I despise them. Any bad news about them is good news to me.

Seriously, it's terrible that more hardworking people may lose their jobs.
I see this sentiment a lot whenever some big horrible shady corporation goes bust, and I simply don't agree. Every job is not a defensible, necessary thing, and just because corporatization allows people to work for horrible companies without feeling attached or responsible doesn't mean they aren't. If you're willing to work for a billion+ dollar company with virtually no local accountability, you shouldn't be so surprised when you get put through the wash.

Being "big" isn't all advantages.

Good, hopefully facebook will also pop in the next year and everyone can get over this stupid social media trend, and stop integrating it into absolutely everything. There seems to be this wisdom that facebook is too big to fail because of its user base, and it is utter bullshit and can't wait to say a lot of I told you so to everyone who bought shares at the IPO.

Anyway, this is good news. Is there a reason behind why their stock has fallen this much (profit reports or something)?

I know a lot of people who work for studios that got bought out by Zynga in this area. I don't play their games, but I'm not so cruel as to say it's a good thing.

Zynga is not in the business of making video games. They're in a business of ripping off video games and making cash milking shit. And apparently people are fed up with their shit. I just hope the same happens with EA and Activision.

OMG! So the casual crowd turned out to be... *drum-roll* CASUAL!!

I am so glad this keeps coming back and socking people in the face. Granted, I would feel sorry for them... if it wasn't all the crazy shenanigans I keep hearing about their business.
