Yes, for some reason people seem to actually like ME2 more than ME, so I guess it could just be my personal preferences...BrotherRool said:I'm almost completely sure that Bioware did.dyre said:Eh, I won't hold my breath. I wonder if Bioware ever made a similar statement
But- and it's a big but, I'm pretty sure that Bioware still are as independent as they want to be, and more than that they've been trusted with the biggest budget EA has ever trusted to any developer before. The Old Republic is almost sink or swim for EA.
I think my problems with Bioware and the latest Bioware games are down to 1)Bioware are a lot bigger than they used to be and making a lot more games, presumably some of those people making games aren't quite as good as everyone else.
2) Problems I always had with Bioware. The party member interaction system was stupid in KotoR and it's stupid in Mass Effect. And it's pretty obvious from Jade Empire that they've always wanted to break away from RPG style combat.
Apart from that, most people seem to think Mass Effect is the best thing ever and most people think it might even have gotten better for ME2, so I don't think this is the point where we can say that they've failed
Let's not forget Black Box Games. Or Criterion Games. Or Playfish.j-e-f-f-e-r-s said:And Pandemic. And that was fairly recent.theultimateend said:and Maxis .Pipotchi said:I wonder if the employees of Bullfrog and Westwood Studios said something similar?
Time will tell I suppose
I'm still super-pissed that they decided to shut them down, considering they'd spent $800 million to buy them and Bioware. And no, Bioware by itself is not worth $800 million. I'm just gutted that we're not going to see a Battlefront 3.
I preffered the story and characters deepness in Mass Effect 1, while the better animations and more polemical decisions in Mass Effect 2 (Mordin Solus' quest and A House Divided for example), And the combat was better. I do miss the elevators and the presidium though. They're pretty close for me.dyre said:Yes, for some reason people seem to actually like ME2 more than ME, so I guess it could just be my personal preferences...BrotherRool said:I'm almost completely sure that Bioware did.dyre said:Eh, I won't hold my breath. Though, they didn't like DA2 much, lol
That's definitely true, and DA2 is probably the best argument that EA might be having a bad effect. But then I reckon, since you need more people to make a MMO than a normal game, it may just be staffing problems. The impression I get is that EA was at fault for pushing a release date too close. The rest of it was down to BioWare in terms of design (and the concept was very interesting, it just wasn't well realised) - I don't think EA mess with them in any way particularly. There's a reason they're their most popular dev studio.BrotherRool said:That's definitely true, and DA2 is probably the best argument that EA might be having a bad effect. Also I bet that pic was made at gun point.
