Really how many Tower Defense games do we really need?
How many MMO's do we need? How many FPS's do we need? HOW MUCH OXYGEN DO WE NEED?!?!?

barring that last one, they all have one thing in common: They're all a particular genre which appeals to a different group of people (Not to say there is no overlap). Tower defense (Or defence, given the situation) maps may seem limited, but I'm willing to bet they turn big profits off this game.
Including all those... If there is extremely noticeable variation and differences other than appearance then there is no point. Regardless of genre or medium. And sure they'll make money, but that doesn't mean that the game will be interesting or anything.
Halo...All of them, in fact...

But the very fact that they will make money means there is a point. And it is a new take on the genre, a more random, not Srs take, and that makes it more enjoyable.

Its like George Ramero versus M. Night Shamylan.

god "the happening" was horrible.....
That it was, interesting idea, he just went about the wrong way...horribly.

Anyway, I see chuckles and giggles in this game's future, I might give it look when it goes into retail.

I've played the game. It's friggin fantastic.
I think I remember seeing a preview for this in a gaming magazine a while back, but it had a different title. It said you could plant things like pea-shooters and cherry bombs to defen your garden. Is this still the case, Susan?

Edit: It also had zombies in American Football uniforms which looked quite friendly and endearing as far as zombies go.
I'm not sure how much I'm allowed to say yet, but I will say that it is a defense game, has a truly surprising amount of stuff to do even after you've finished the game, and is very, very funny.

Even if you don't like defense games, you will enjoy this, I virtually guarantee. I believe it's my favorite PopCap game ever - yes, I like it even more than Peggle.

I WANT I WANT I WANT!
FOR PONY!

Ehm...

Please tell me this is going to be on PC. Please tell me I won't need Steam or some other crap-app to purchase it (ugh, EA Downloader, I will kill you some day!). And please for the love of crazed undead wizards who like to torture, maim and torment, tell me this game really does have zombie dolphins... Or sharks.
It's a PopCap game. Of course it's for PC :p

Wow, that's quite the reccomendation. As for stuff to do after the game is finished, that's great, after-endgame bits are always fun (case in point: Fallout 2).

Wow... I cant express the weirdness of this...
Not that they would make a game about zombies and plants(even though thats pretty wierd) but that in my class we are at the moment creating small game prototypes and one of the groups chose to do a game about a plant shooting zombies in a top-down shooter...
That's one weird coincidence...
