It can be a bit gross when you stop to think about it for a while but.. well, boobies. The more ladies the better, I always say!
*claps* well said!LostAlone said:Porns cool, in its place. That's about all I can say about it. In cultural terms, pornography is liberating. It holds up a VAST variety of men and women as being desirable. Yes lots of conventionally hot people, but lots of very-non conventional people too. Midgets, amputees, old people. Its a very broad church. It makes no judgement on you for what you find attractive, which we really need. Sex is the primary cause of self-repression and dissatisfaction in the western world, and we need it to be ok to say 'this turns me on, and i am not ashamed.
Honestly, I think that anti-pornography folks are about the only knee-jerkers that I genuinely hate. The 'think of the children' crowd I can at least ignore, because they say the same thing about everything that's not from 1950, but the biblically opposed are closer to fascism when they campaign about pornography than at any other time. If nothing else it proves that religion is basically about demonizing sexuality as a whole and women in particular.
Then there's the feminist crowd who are so misguided as to make me wonder how anyone can take their viewpoint seriously. I can buy that it encourages objectification, but only to the same extent of tv and magazines (ie you never know the person involved) and so thats a problem with society, not pornography. What I can't see is how it's particularly demeaning to women, considering there is a roughly equal amount of men involved, and surely if pornography is demeaning, its demeaning to everyone involved. It makes my head spin that feminists argue (and I'm not straw manning, I have been to their lectures on pornography) that women who happily work in the adult industry are too stupid or too enslaved to realize that porn is evil. Goddamn feminsits. *sigh*
Anyway, porn is good for us. Its existence brings us closer to a fully accepting society where sex of all forms is normal and no-one is ashamed of how they feel.
Your dp begs to differ.BanicRhys said:I don't have anything against it, but I don't watch it either.
To quote an actual porn star, "I get to fuck all day and get paid for it, it's great". Apparently most of them enjoy it, and thinking they feel degraded or hurt is a misconception.Vern5 said:As long as no one is being hurt (without consent; some people like BDSM) in the process of creating the porn, I don't see anything wrong with it.
In all honesty, if I had the option to do high-profile porn for a while, I would do it. It's a very successful industry.scnj said:To quote an actual porn star, "I get to fuck all day and get paid for it, it's great". ya as long as you know its a long shot but I just wanted to point out the idea of doing it without concent is low because its somthing a child would do but its a very adult act so it kinda contradicts itself I mean I really cant see a 20+ year old person doing the old monkey see monkey doLord Kloo said:It serves its purpose and is a thriving industry and employs people so I don't see why it shouldn't continue.. although I do have a bit of beef with some things such as slave or pain fetishes (BDSM), but considering they're all consenting adults I can't see much of a problem other than people will try to copy it on unsuspecting partners, but thats a long shot..
I don't, honest.Jim From Accounting said:Your dp begs to differ.BanicRhys said:I don't have anything against it, but I don't watch it either.
Yeah paradoxically enough a lot of BDSM actors actually get better treatment than regular porn actors, you see on kink.com they have all sorts of rules about scene safety and fair payments (if you want to stop you still get paid proportionately), plus most of them are there because they genuinely get off on the stuff rather than just doing it for the easy cash.Vern5 said:As long as no one is being hurt (without consent; some people like BDSM) in the process of creating the porn, I don't see anything wrong with it.
You're asking me if I have an issue with an industry that's at the forefront of meeting consumer demands when it comes to media integration and availability, that helps some people understand their own tastes and quirks rather than go through life in a confused fog, and that has actually managed to do WELL in the current troubled economy? HA.chinangel said:hey, this should be pretty straight forward. What is your opinion on pornography? As a girl...it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I think some porn can be quite arousing actually. I'm interested to see what others think.
