Portal 2 installation help.

So, my girlfriend decided to go out and buy portal 2, because she's been wanting it ever since she played the first one.

She went and bought a box copy however, and she's just sent me a message saying it won't install.

The message was: i need halp!!! for some reason i can't activate Portal 2 on my steam account!! it keeps saying i need to start it up on a PlayStation3 Network account or something. What do i do? I don't have one of those!

And i have absolutely no idea why it would be asking for a Ps3 account.

So. Anyone have any idea whats going on?

I know this is a dumb question but you never clarified. Did she buy Portal 2 for the PS3?
