portal 2 pre-order problem?

so, i was going to pre-order portal 2 and give the spare copy of portal 1 to a friend. i add portal 2 to my basket, click to pay with pay-pal and then it just says working...

after about 5 minutes of nothing i leave the page and check my games library, and it's listing Portal 2 Pre-Order (the exact name) as not yet released. i have no confirmation e-mail from paypal or steam and paypal is saying no recent activity in the last 7 days.

did i get a free copy of portal 2 or something?

did it charge me?

what happened?

i checked spam, nothing.

also, no free copy of portal 1. the thing is that it's listed as Portal 2 Pre-Order, i've pre-ordered games on steam before and it'd just call them by their name without pre order on the end.

i checked spam, nothing.

My copy says " - Pre-Order" at the end too, but I've never preordered anything before

When I preordered super meat boy it did the same thing. It will only download and charge you after the game is actually released. I believe that is when you will get the free copy of portal 1 as well.

and now portal 2 - pre-order isn't appearing in my games list at all. i guess my payment didn't go through and it just prematurely showed portal 2.
