Portal 2 release date shoutout

Dear fellow Escapists.
Just a couple of minutes ago, the countdown at aperturescience.com/a/b/c/d/g/h/abcdgh went zero. A message appeared from GLaDOS, urging us all to help her reboot. this will take raw computer power.

In short, Portal 2 will be released earlier if enough people join in with their computer. see http://www.aperturescience.com/glados@home/ for more information. Basically, the more people buy the potatoe sack, the higher the chance of an earlier portal 2

This countdown was a bit disapointing. I was expecting something a little more, tbh. Interesting as it is, I personally dont think it's worth me spending another £27 just so i can get the game 4 days early. Feels like a money scam. If it would of been something like a month or two, then i might of been tempted.

Oh well... for those who already have the game, I will be cheering you on from the sidelines. That's all I can do XD

And besides, if it comes out before the retail copy, then I'll have to abandon the internet for a few days. To avoid the legions of people endlessly talking about it and whatnot.

But we can do the impossible. Have a Valve game released before it was supposed to! It's like negative valve time.

Even then, it will probably only be for the people getting it on Steam.

Just a few facts for the guys that are spreading misinformation:

- You don't have to buy the pack. You only have to play one of the games listed.
- You don't need any potatoes. You just have to run the game.
- You don't need to play the game. Steam can't monitor what you do so you can start it and Alt+Tab out of it.

My personal opinion is that it's too much of a hassle so I'll just skip it and wait for release.

well alright, thank you for clearing that up. still, i'm going to run the potatoe games at least 8-12 hours, so i hope that'll help.

also, the counter is actually increasing, though not very fast. i suspect we need 1 million potatoes, which is a LOT

I was thinking of getting the Potato Sack over the weekend, so that works out rather well assuming Portal 2 doesn't get released before I have a chance to get it.
