Then she finds that she doesn't have any food and no knowledge of what the world is like.

I always thought the ending to be pretty cruel.
True, but it's not the same kind of cruel beauty you'd see by letting a bird caged all it's life out into the wild. Chell is tenacious, and if her science project is any indication she's also quite smart. Of course we have no idea what happens to her, but I can imagine to celebrate her newly won freedom she would do what she's doing in the drawing.

I know I certainly would.

Dude, I love that song. It is absolutely stunning. Too bad I found it on Youtube before I found it in the game.

Still, can't complain. It felt haunting and beautiful to find that radio in-game. The only thing solid and irrevocably Human, in a giant cavern of Moving steel and glass.

The real reason Chell and Gordon Freeman will never meet is because it would be the least interesting conversation ever.
Actually, it could be interesting to see how Valve would handle 2 mute protagonists, using body language and gestures instead of dialog.

Aww, she looks so happy. That's just plain adorable.

All the more so because that is something I can totally imagine her doing. What with not having seen sun or rain since she was a kid.

Alright just incase anyone can't say I was careless there are spoilers for the ending to Portal 2 here, you're own fault if you read furthur.

Alright, the rest of us knows what happens to Chell at the end of Portal 2, she's allowed to leave and the original companion cube is shot out with her. One person decided that ending wasn't good enough and made this website.

There's really not much to this, just something pleasant you all could enjoy (would make a nice wallpaper actually.)

But really I can just imagine if Portal 2 was a movie this would be exactly how it would end. Chell just relaxing in the rain with her 'best friend', just basking in the freedom she has rightfully earned all the while Exile Vilify, the beautiful music hidden in the game, plays in the background. Obviously Valve would never do this ending because they didn't want to pull us away from Chell's perspective but if this scene started playing I honestly wouldn't have cared.
Kinda like that part of V for vendetta (the movie and the book).

That's a nice little thing there, very pleasant and quaint.

I thought the ending of Portal 2 was great anyway. Would have been cool if the oft-mentioned deer had just bounded past in the background, but that kind of depends on there still being life on the surface of the Earth.
Oft-mentioned? Once...

And yeah, I liked the ending, if it was a little silly, but it was nice that they decided to conclusively end it. ... I hope.

Ooooooh, I definitely counted at least three times. One at the beginning of a chamber, one at the end, and another quite a bit later.

we all know that after the screen cuts to black a strider kills her.

HA no really we have established this happens after the black mesa incident so theres going to be alot of adjustment for Chell to whatever is left at the time of her escape.

OT: its a nice little thing for sure tho. at least until the Portal 2 ending is retconned for portal 3.

Man that's beautiful, I'll listen this for a while before I go to bed. It's so soothing, a bit bittersweet in a way, but sorta...catharsic.

I didn't actually find that radio, but man, that's so well put.

I think the fact that she's in a neatly cultivated wheatfield is a good indication. I doubt any wheatfield looks so pristine after centuries, or even decades, of neglect.
