I'm looking forward to the original design and clever puzzles but after a great success with the first game I've got a feeling that valve won't come with enough original ideas for this one (why-fix what-is'nt-broke-syndrome)... But I hope i'm wrong :p

Chell isn't going to go back to the Apature base so continuing Chell's story would be pointless.
But going through the same motions with some new poor mute sap just can't be as good.
and this is Valve we're talking about so I trust them not to make a bad game. I just want to play it
They actually changed Portal's ending so that she was dragged back into Aperture.
OT: I don't really know.

well all of it I guess O.- but I really liked the brainteasers of the original. made you actually feel like you accomplished something when you had beaten a level and not just earned you 5'th killstreak -.-;

We're playing as Chell again - did you not hear all the fuss when they created the extended ending to the first game?

But what made the original Portal good was the fact that it was short. I don't think that a game like Portal can stay interesting for more than 4 hours at most.
Most people played Portal atleast twice back to back, and continued replaying it sometime later, of course it could have held interest for much longer.

Maybe puzzle games just aren't your thing. They generally remain interesting for as long as the game can keep giving fresh and challenging content.

Portal 1 would have struggled to be longer without adding new gameplay elements because almost everything had been done, that's why a lot of fan-made portal levels were a little stale. But Portal 2 adds so many new gameplay elements that the amount of challenging puzzles should increase massively.

No I didn't hear about that.
I still want to play it, don't get me wrong, I don't think Portal could ever be bad but I don't expect lightning to strike twice.

The comedic exploits of two robots trying to avoid Android Hell. What's not to love?
This post contains a paradox. Where is it?
i don't see it...
Nah, fail of me, rly. Just picked up on the fact that he used the words "Robot" and "Android" in the same sentence, even though they don't mean the same thing literary. Then I realized that in this case they can be synonym, so it's irrelevant now.
'Cause I removed the paradox...WITH SCIENCE!

THE NEW PORTAL SONG! There HAS to be a new portal song. It won't be the same without it. If the game doesn't end with a hilariously good song, it'll leave a sour taste in my mouth. I have not worried about gameplay nor story. Just the new song.

I'm looking forward to Valve hopefully not making any common sequel cock-ups...

You see, the best thing about Portal was it's simplicity. It was short, fun, and didn't really need any wider story attached. So I'm hoping that, although the new gameplay elements (Co-Op, Repulsion Gel etc) look good, Valve haven't fallen in to the common trap of adding sequel garnish where it's not needed.

Captcha: expense ssocie btw.

More puzzles. I've disliked every fan-level I've tried (admittedly, I gave up somewhat quickly) - every single one seems to miss the mark on what made Portal levels so wonderful by trying to insert difficulty with timing and precision on an obvious path, instead of the obscure, 3D thought needed to *find* the path in the original game.
