I would seriously LOVE to see the portal gun incorporated into a multiplayer game. TF2 with the portal gun would be hilariously schizophrenic. Do you think it could be fun, or do you think it would potentially break the game?

Ofcourse it would break the game, it has nothing to do with TF2 anyway. If anything it should be a possibility in hl2 dm..

Well it wouldn't be a weapon, it could be used to get around, or to trap an enemy; like for instance, shooting a portal under them and having them fall from the ceiling.

Eh. I'm indifferent to it. While it would have it's advantages, balancing it into gameplay would be rather annoying and likely be nerfed to something like the teleporter in Unreal.

Not to mention there are decidedly few surfaces that will hold a portal.

Apparently Valve were contemplating a multiplayer element for portal, but as I can remember the person quotes "We tried it out, but it's seriously less fun then you'd expect".

Or something. My memory fades me.

The most OP weapon would be the supercharged gravity gun with a portal mechanic to it.

You'd place an exit over an edge and then shoot an entrance beneath someones feet as they run at you.

I could see how it could work. For example placing a portal under an enemy then put another on a wall so that he smacks straight into the wall opposite the portal.
