Hey everyone, everything seems a bit slow today so I'm reaching out to you, that's right you Jonathan (probably not your name, but can imagine the look on Jonathan's face right now) to uplift the spirits of all those who are in need of good chuckle, for everyone whose had a bad day or even worse - a mediocre day, for the people whose thorax has been collecting dust, for the depressed and the happy who want to be happier, post something in the thread that you believe will get induce a laugh.

You can post anything, from a joke, a video, news story, to a a picture no matter how new, old, offensive or silly. Just NO MEME'S. And avoid posting the link to an archive of jokes of something of the sort, that's just lazy. Also if your post involves nudity or very adult material please place a NSFW warning.

I guess I'll go first:

These threads almost always end up with some poor sap getting Mod Wrathed for breaking the forum rules. So since your name doesn't have a harder-to-read color, I don't think you're really in the position to tell people to post things that are offensive or potentially NSFW.

This video literally started in my play list as I clicked on this page. I think my favorite is Bieber vs Beethoven, and I really enjoyed the Mr T vs. Mister Rogers.

(Anyone else finding the captcha's prior to posting hard to read?)

Might want to skip to a minute in.
I don't think there's anything for me to add. Pretty self explanatory.

Any reasons memes aren't allowed, by the way? Memes can be funny.

Ah, I remember this. You'd be surprised how much funnier this is to those of us with very dirty minds.

Just how my dad would read it to me.

Meme's are often funny, but it's not funny just to post them. There is nothing clever about pointing to a pop references and then expecting people to laugh.

Isn't the lack of requirement for cleverness or effort the appeal of them?

A meme is just a unit that carries an idea within a culture, meme's aren't inherently clever as they are a means to induce nostalgia. For example 'the cake is a lie' is a meme, the line itself is meaningless but when coupled with it's source material it induces laughter because it's associated with an enjoyable experience. It's very design is lazy, and while it may be appealing the act of simply posting a meme is arguably a means of achieving laughter to compensate for not being funny. Oh geeze this is getting too serious... quick look here [http://www.smbc-comics.com/?db=comics&id=1016#comic].
