when i first saw the new site design i also saw the add for Fallout: New Vegas so i thought it was because of that?

Might be. However the Who Run Escapist Town thing doesn't seem to fit in very well with what I've seen of the game thus far.

It's a quote from Mad Max 3. It originally was "Who runs Barter Town?".

That's a new look? I've been scrubbing my monitor for almost an hour...this is like violent diarrhea. Brown shit & bullet holes. I like the old look better...

Wow,somebody has seriously missinterpreted rusty metal.

At least the color scheme with black buttons is a nice contrast,don't you agree?

Interesting "Fallout: New Vegas" promotion, though a bit eatly since that game is still four agonizing months away (plus delivery time, since I used an Amazon.com credit for it, and I doubt they will get it here release day despite the most expensive shipping option).

Still, I'd rather wait than have the game ship without the proper amount of polish.

It's not for Fallout, it has nothing to do with it. This is for Fallout [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/contests/register/NewVegas]; you can tell because there's a game logo on it, always a good indicator. The skin is for Issue 258, "The Day After" [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/features/issue/258]. A fortunate coincidence, but a coincidence nonetheless.

It completely fails to work in Firefox.

A lot of the text is black on a black background.

I just tried in in IE8, and while it's readable, it still looks awful

It works fine for me in Firefox. On the other hand, if you're running an ad blocker it might not work correctly for you. If that's the case, too damn bad.

Wasn't that, I cleared the cache and it works now.

I stand by what I said about not liking the new look though.

How about giving us a choice of themes?

Also after letting it sink in all day, I think I do rather like the new look.

I like it myself, although it makes a couple of things difficult to read. Is this going to be a regular thing? A different theme every tuesday? Maybe just for one day though.

Im mainly reminded of the Jay Z song Run This Town when I see what they've done to the Escapist logo.

I can't see it at all, It just a big wall of blackness. Makes the articles a lot harder to read as well
