I've been a member for like, six months, and I just broke 1,000.

And I'm damn proud.

What do you think the count would be for everyone if they excluded the retarded ones like "First!!!1!1one!1"?

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to take a bullet to the head for acknowledging the "first" practice...

I don't judge on post count really, or date joined, more on the badges, because it shows what they're proud of or possibly what sort of person they are, though I do suppose that if they have a (compared to most) low post count but have been a member since 2007-mid 2008, then I find I like them better, because I'm a judgemental a-hole who thinks he's the lord almighty because he lurked for a few months before joining (Since May I think) though I do have a very low post count, even compared to long standing members who never really post.

But I do wonder how people who have been on for less than 6 or 7 months go gonzo so quickly? I suppose I go on average 5/6 posts a day not including , but think I worked someones average per day out once and it was crazy!

EDIT:

Post counts are like Xbox Achievements. The more you have the more you show how much life
you do not have.

I don't feel particularly strong about them one way or another.
It's a cool little addition, but it's not like they make anyone better or worse.
The content of a person's posts is also a much better indicator of their merit.
How the hell did you get all of yours? Just asking.

OT: ...yeah, basically what he said.

Also, who has the highest post count, just out of curiousity?
I got the majority of mine from posting in my home section of the forum games. Obsessively.
I have a bit too much fun there.
Recently(last three months or so), I've started coming to the off topic section more.

And I think I do...

I kind of hoped I could avoid returning to this thread.

But yeah, I gotz lotz of post...z.
Neonbob has more!
Why does nobody ever notice him?
Yeah...not happenin.
Nobody notices me(well, not as much as you at any rate), because you're the official warning.
Remember that whole thing?
Plus, you're in off topic much more than I am.

been on for well over a year and have 2100 odd posts. if people have hundreds of posts in a few days they need to get a hobby. i could do with one, actually!

Post counts are completely meaningless. Why would I possibly give a fuck how many posts I or anyone else has? It often becomes a sort of e-penis competition, and should be done away with.

A large part of my post count comes from a brief stint in the Forum Games section, oh shes an addictive beast she is. But no I actually have less respect for people with insanely large post counts as to me it shows they must post mainly unsubstantial posts. Well except for NeonBob, that dude just wins me over, it may be his shave the whales thing.

Though I don't judge people by their post count, I always assume that's how they judge me.
When it was lower, I was always careful what I said to people so as to not make a bad name for myself too early on.

I'm more comfortable to express my full opinion nowadays, mainly because I've already incurred moderator wrath (it was only a probation), which is quite a freeing experience (somehow).

Don't really care for it. I was eagerly anticipating my Gone Gonzo thingy, but today I realised I had gone Gonzo about 48 posts ago. 70 something now.

Damn, missed it.

...Oh Well! *whistles with hands in pockets*

I personally live to make my post count higher.

Unfortunately its not going too well for me and suicide is certainly an option at this stage.

i used to think it was weird when i saw people who joined in the same month as me with a hundred more posts than me. But i looked at someones profile the other day and there was a member for 2 weeks and they had 500 posts. There is only one word for that and its SPAM.

Edit:Like the people below and above me;)

Don't need the irony pointed out to me.
Yeah, but when you say that, you're lying. Jokes. I do remember when you first showed up though. It was like every other posts was yours.
I don't mind, I just don't get how people can post that much.
It shows dedication to the Community, thats what it shows.

I don't think we could do without either. Post count shows how much time you spend here, while age shows how much time you could have spent here. I just members by taking both into account. A really old member with just a few points doesn't really care that much about the community, while someone with an unusually high number of posts per day is just a cred grinder. Idk, its more complicated than black and white.

I've been here for a long time now, and i've never seen a single "first" post. Anywhere. If any of you have i'd like to know.
