When I do/use to use a custom music song to wake up to, it was always this:


Clever, problems is I'd sleep through it a bunch of times and it would fuck with my dreams.

Nowadays though, I got one of those old school clocks with the bell and hammer.

and I have my phone setup with an extra alarm slot that I use in case I need to wake up for a nap or something. That song changes semi-frequently, but the current song I'm using is:

It doesn't take much to wake me up in the morning, so I can usually get away with having softer/quieter songs as my alarm, plus for important times my phone vibrates on my nightstand which makes a racket to increase desire to shut it off.

My alarm clock only goes beep, as does my phone. Not sure I could make my phone play a song, I think I'm the only person who doesn't yet own a smartphone. If I could wake up to a song, it would probably be Cowboy Mouth, "Glad To Be Alive." I'm not a morning person so if I'm getting shouted awake I want it to be as happy and go-get-'em as possible.

This just seemed appropriate to me. It starts off with a sharp sound to wake me up, and still manages to get me in a good mood, even when waking up is the last thing I actually want to do.

I use Electric Six - Gay Bar as my wake up tone. It's perfect as it starts somewhat soft, then quickly goes berserk. I like the song, but that sound increase makes me panic. Perfect for waking up.


The downside is that I now get anxiety attacks when the songs starts in my playlist.
