This is definitely a bump. Some of us played this weekend, and between the game rocking and Steam's Xbox-Live-Style functionality, it was a BLAST (Or Backstab). Easily the most fun I've had in a multiplayer FPS in a long time. BF2 was fun, but in a challenging/determined kind of way. When I die in this game, most of the time I'm laughing my ass off when it happens. Everyone must play.

Just joined the group. I'm katananokage.

Joe, give it a chance. It just got out of beta, and it's mainly about the games.

Seconded.

It'll be nice when it's working more reliably - I seem to 'lose connection' to the friends list fairly frequently, which doesn't reconnect until I restart Steam. It also seems to have some trouble properly tracking the status of friends, reporting them as offline when they aren't.

It's a really slick system though, and I'm sure it's still under pretty heavy development.

OK, suggesting we set an event under the The Escapist usergroup for Friday night at 7:00 eastern for us all to invade a server and lay waste to an unsuspecting blue team.

<- Terrible FPS player, but I can drop sentry guns in some of the most obnoxious places. :)

Oh yeah, http://steamcommunity.com/id/Azhrarn (although I'm keeping my friends list to people I know directly for now, as groups will show up in there as well)

We have set up a server, and I set up an event in the group - anyone that wants to play, join up!

Server works, I tested it with one of the Escapist programmers.
However, I kinda think we should make the password a bit simpler. It was really hard for me to fully wrap my head around, and someone wanting to get in hard enough can always find the password in the PUBLIC steam group.

Password is now simpler. We'll post it to the community momentarily.

The idea is to just keep the broadcasted server from being taken over by pubbies and not leaving any room for us. If they want to come and join the community and get the password, good!

Playing time: 22.6 hrs past 2 weeks

In case you can't tell, I've got my Orange Box.

So, how do you make events with the community thing?

I was thinking of setting up a boot camp training match for people looking for tips on how to play the game better, but I have no idea how.

Only admins can do it. I wonder if they're going to, at some point, let admins extend some powers.
For the moment is it ok if we PM the group admins with event times?
