Anyone else notice? Anyone else care?

Personally, I'm stricken with anticipation. Im pretty worried about it being third person (as i am a huge FPS fan) but eh, i can get over it.

To me the allure of the postal series is uniqueness, playing postal 2 i was able to do things i never thought i would be able to do in a video game (like use a cat as a silencer for example). Naturally that kind of violence is immature and there really is no point to it, but its different and i think its the ultimate in NERD RAGE.

I would liken it to Death Metal in music, in the fact that it has a limited appeal, many people find it offensive and you cannot judge the entire music industry based on the one genre or one song that is over the top.

AWESOME! I've been waiting for this for years. I just hope that they iron out some of the glitches from the second game. Oh, and shorten the load times. A lot. Still, wish it was in 3rd person.

I noticed I've always loved screwing around in Postal games... as long as it's as over the top as the others I could care less first or third person...

I predict many people going in here looking for PORTAL 3. Hah!

Anyway, i'm slightly against it. I was never a fan of "kill-and/or-torture-every-living-thing-you-see" genre, and it makes gamers look bad.

I don't really care. For all the controversy, the games aren't funny nor are they particularly fun or interesting.

Sounds...fun?
Seriously though, postal games tend to be fun and rather amusing (if rather prone to getting banned in seventeen countries and such)...

Ive watched a few of the videos over it, i doubt that its going to get less over the top. I mean they have playboy girls and that cowboy dude from village people, so judging by that alone...

Did you ever patch the game up to the most current version? It really shortens the load times.

OT:The first Postal game wasn't an FPS, it was more of a top down shooter. Personally I think it's pretty cool to see them changing the formula with every iteration of the game and I can't wait to see what they've got planned for Postal 3. I just hope I've got a machine that can run it by the time it comes out.

Thinking back it was just pointless violence for the sake of pointless violence without much gameplay or depth to back it up. I enjoyed it as a kid but i doubt i'd enjoy it now.

Things like being able to pee on people aren't going to make me think "best game ever" anymore, that sort of thing will just make me think it's silly D:

You gotta good point there, it is indeed good to see some game companies still taking chances. According to wikipedia, its going to be coming out on consoles as well.

I thought it said Portal, but this is far more interesting (since I don't care for the portals) just because it means some politicians will get angry.

Yes, I did. I meant at the time. And honestly, I've never been a guy big on Third Person Shooters. RE4 is my one exception.

I love the little disclaimer at the bottom of the page. This is what I like to see in a game developer.

Indeed. It's a shame there arent more developers like RWS. Ignoring the "over the topness" of RWS, the fact that they are so willing to take risks and make the games they enjoy making is far to rare in the gaming industry.

I've always preferred third person over first person, and I loved playing Postal 2's multiplayer. I'm really looking forward to this, and hope it does indeed get a console release!
